To the men and women who answer the call — day or night, rain or shine, hot or cold — THANK YOU!!
To all our supporting departments - THANK YOU!
You are the first in and last out, while others run away from the flames you run toward them. You leave your families, your jobs, and your warm beds to protect strangers that you may have never met.
You are parents, sons, daughters, full time and part time regular job holders, who choose to put on the gear and show up for the community, whatever it may be, AND ALL AT YOUR COST asking for nothing in return.

Firefighters dedicate their lives to the protection of life and property. Sometimes that dedication is in the form of countless hours volunteered over many years, in others it is many selfless years working in the industry. In all cases it risks the ultimate sacrifice of a firefighter’s life.

International Firefighters’ Day (IFFD) is a time where the world’s community can recognise and honour the sacrifices that firefighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible. It is also a day in which current and past firefighters can be thanked for their contributions. We at Bigelow FD would like to thank all the area Volunteer Departments for their countless hours of dedication and support over the years, we appreciate you sacrifices to jump at all hours of the day and night to help others. THANK YOU! And also thanks to Pro-med ambulance, they may not be firefighters, but they are there if we ever need them.
