For the third year in a row, our w**d management strategy has included goats!
The McMichael family has done an amazing job moving the goats, safely enclosed in electric netted fencing, around the park to help control leafy spurge and other w**ds. We’re already seeing noticeable improvements.

Happy kids, happy goats, and Duke on duty at Dornix Park.

Our goat crew is busy munching away and full of personality. The best part? You might even get the chance to hold a goat… also known as a “kid,” which makes it twice as fun.

And keeping a watchful eye on it all is Duke, the beautiful livestock guardian dog, making sure everyone stays safe while the goats do their thing.

Stop by, say hello, and enjoy some time with our favorite four-legged park crew.

We’re proud to congratulate Laney Ketcham as this year’s recipient of the $500 Dornix Park Scholarship!

This scholarship recognizes students who support Dornix Park and their community—whether through volunteering, involvement, or a strong commitment to making a difference. Laney has truly stood out. She’s shown up for multiple park work days, ready to jump in wherever help was needed, bringing a great attitude and a willingness to get her hands dirty (even if she may have wondered what she signed up for once or twice!).

Her dedication has helped make Dornix Park a better place for everyone, and that kind of effort doesn’t go unnoticed.

Laney, thank you for everything you’ve contributed—we appreciate you and are cheering you on. Congratulations on this well-deserved scholarship!

The Dornix Board and a few guests had a great morning with Dr. Marco Restani from the Yellowstone Audubon Society.

This marks the fifth year ospreys have nested at Dornix! While it may not be the same pair each year, we’re always excited to see them return. Although last year’s fledglings were sadly lost to an owl, we were thrilled to see ospreys back again this season.

We watched two other ospreys approach the nest, and the resident male quickly chased them off. The female is tending her eggs while the male brings food.

Dr. Restani will once again band the fledglings this year.

Thankful to witness this at Dornix!

Big thanks to everyone who came out for our Dornix Park work day! 🌿
We had 16 awesome volunteers help clean up branches and downed trees from the windstorms. What a difference it made!

We’re especially grateful to Yellow Dog Rental for donating the dump trailer. It was a huge help!
