Last Saturday Jackie Franklin and Pam Mack facilitated an obstacle course. Afterwards, the kids got to create their own obstacle course on paper with mini horse figures.

It was a beautiful day and the kids loved it!

Branding season is here!

Branding cows in Big Timber is a deeply rooted tradition with origins dating back to Ancient Egyptians tombs in 2,700 BCE. The practice was introduced to the Americas by the Spanish Explorers, with the first recorded brands in Mexico around 1519.

In the 1800's, branding became widespread in the American West where it served as a legal system to identify cattle and prevent theft. By the 1990's branding was common in the US, with 12% of calf producers branding calves prior to weaning.

We are so grateful to keep this tradition alive. We'll see you this branding season wrestling, roping and branding calves.
