We've been counting down the days until we come together for this joyous celebration. It’s hard to believe that we’re already this close! There’s just something special about being surrounded by our community for Pride Festival, whether it's here in Big Rapids or anywhere in Michigan! We absolutely cannot wait!

Today we’re celebrating everyone who experiences attraction regardless of gender and giving a special shoutout to those who are both Pan and on the Asexual or Aromantic spectrums.
Pansexual 🩷💛💙: a person who has the capacity to form enduring physical, romantic, and/ or emotional attractions to any person, regardless of gender identity. This is one of several terms under the bi+ umbrella.
Panromantic💙💚🧡🩷: a person who has the capacity to form enduring romantic attraction to any person, regardless of gender identity.

Happy International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT)!🏳️‍🌈✨️

This celebration honors the historic 1990 decision by the World Health Organization (WHO) to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder. The day is dedicated to celebrating LGBTQIA+ folxs while raising awareness of the work that still needs to be done to combat disproportionate rates of bullying, harassment, and discrimination.

This IDAHOBIT, consider the small things you can do to build inclusion and stand against LGBTQIA+ discrimination. This could look like:
🌈 Create space for LGBTIQA+ people to share their lived experiences.
🌈 If you see or hear discrimination, speak up.
🌈 Take the time to learn about LGBTIQA+ identities, histories and challenges.
🌈 Make your support visible, by being a role model for kindness and inclusion, and taking action at a local level to create safe spaces.
🌈 Listen to LGBTQIA+ youth and use inclusive language.
🌈 Work, learn and socialize in ways that respect and include everyone, every day.
