Mother and daughter team helped at the American Red Cross blood drive in Mecosta on Friday. And daughter stepped up and became a donor! Thank you, Katie and Sallie Wyman, for your Service to America!

Mecosta Chapter introduces three new members! We welcomed (l to r) Rozella Boyer, Loreen Caverly, and Kristy Somsel at the September 23rd meeting. They are pictured with Regent Bev Rothenberger and Chaplain Amee Wroblewski. What a wonderful time to join NSDAR, the year of America 250!

The DAR of Michigan State Conference was amazing! Regent Bev Rothenberger and member Liz LaBatt attended and thoroughly enjoyed their time with DAR sisters Illuminating our Legacy for the Love of DAR! A full report will be given at the September 23 meeting. Pictured below are Bev and Liz at the state committee tables they visited. Liz, chair of the Conservation Committee is pictured with State Conservation Chair Sandy Wilhoit. Bev, chair of the DAR Schools Committee met State Chair of DAR Schools, Joette Kunse.

Mecosta Chapter volunteers helped with the local America Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday. Four members registered donors and chatted with them afterwards making sure they were feeling okay after their donations. It was a great way to help in the community and, as usual, we had a good time!

Mecosta Chapter is stepping up to the challenge! The Cherry Blossom Chapter Challenge wants us to get funky (well, actually, they said to have fun...). At our July 22 meeting we celebrated our chapter members and their birthdays with ice cream sundaes and George Washington carrot cake followed by the Sugar Sugar skit. It was a fun evening! We challenge other chapters to step up and do the Sugar Sugar skit. "Sugar, sugar, honey, honey, Mecosta Chapter is wanting you!"

What a joy to visit the Jean Bessac Chapter and share in their wonderful hospitality! 🌸 Thank you for the warm welcome, and for bringing friends from the Isabella and Mecosta Chapters together for such a sweet afternoon.

We also celebrated a new member joining the chapter — welcome to the DAR family! 🎉

Between the beautiful corsage and delightful treat bar, it felt like stepping into an orchard in full bloom — a reminder that our DAR sisterhood, like the apple blossom, is strongest when rooted deep and reaching wide.

Mecosta Chapter celebrated America's 250th birthday by being a part of the Village of Mecosta's 4th of July Parade. We handed out over 100 American flags to the children along the route. It was a fun event and so rewarding to see American pride!

Mecosta Chapter members Diana Korcal and Dianne Vieu represented our chapter at a flag retirement ceremony on June 14, at AmVets Post 1941 and American Legion Post 98 in Big Rapids. This somber ceremony is a respectful way to retire our worn and torn American flags.
