Our annual chicken BBQ fundraiser will be held again on Saturday July 25th. There are a limited number of chickens, so place your orders NOW!

Chickens will be ready beginning at noon. Please bring a container or box to hold your piping hot, foil wrapped, chicken!

Enjoy your chicken hot off the grill in the pavilion! Bring your own place settings and beverage of choice, and share the fun while supporting the BMPOA recreation program!

Chickens are $17 for a half chicken. Any questions please contact Darren at 805-421-3950.

Jane Hanlon Memorial Lake Swim

Saturday, July 18th

7:00 am Full Lake Swim starting at the Duffy/Glenmore Dock
8:00 am Mile Swim starting at Mastroianni/Williams dock

Both swims end at the Clark's dock in East Bay with donuts!

No sign up necessary. Each swimmer must have a rower with them.

Please use extra caution if you are boating in the morning.

The Town of Webb will be ACCEPTING White Metals and Old Furniture on Saturday, July 18th at the corner of Higby and Big Moose Road from 8AM to 4PM.

Funfish Sunfish Sailboat Race Returns!

Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 2 PM

Join us for a recreational race around the lake! All ages and all abilities welcome! No experience necessary (that's why the "Fun" is in Funfish!)

Look for the Pontoon boat with the fish flag, in the area between Higby Bay, the North Shore and the inlet.

The race will be around three floats somewhere between the PO Dock and the North Shore (depending on wind and where we can reach the bottom to anchor the floats).

The race is geared towards Sunfish or similar types of sailboats. If you have a sunfish you'd like to make available to others to race, please let us know.

BMPOA's first Corn Hole Tournament was a success in between the Rain Delay.

We had 24 participants with many family groups!

All ages and skill levels were tossing bags onto 4 boards while dogs ran underneath the arch of the bags to give it extra excitement.

In the end, it was a fierce battle between the Carr Parents and the Carr Kids! Everyone agreed that Sara Carr was on FIRE!

The champions: Sara and Adam Carr. The parents won!!

Every year, the Big Moose Lake community is able to celebrate July 4th with a special event that families, friends, and neighbors can all enjoy. It has become one of the highlights of the summer, offering a unique and wonderful experience for everyone who calls the lake home.

We’re reaching out to the community to help support this tradition. By coming together and contributing, we can keep this annual celebration alive and thriving for years to come.

Please consider helping us keep this tradition strong and for making our July 4th celebration possible. We look forward to celebrating together and making more wonderful memories on the lake.

The BMPOA works to protect the health & future of Big Moose Lake, with a special focus on water quality, monitoring for invasive species & promoting boating safety.

We provide swim instruction & a recreation program for the local youth. We also maintain the public Recreation Center building, which offers free WiFi, UPS package pickup & space for general community events that are open to all.

These are practical services that help make Big Moose a stronger, more connected community.

Your membership helps support this work & strengthens our ability to care for the lake & serve the community we all value. We look forward to a great summer & we appreciate your thoughtful deliberation to join the BMPOA this year.
