Open Hours:
Monday thru Friday - Open noon to 6pm.
Saturday - Open noon to 8:30pm.
Sunday - Open noon to 4:00pm.

Toy Drive update: Thanks to all who have donated, our container is filling up nicely. Reminder that you have until close of business on December 11th to donate. Delivery to the Dove's Center will be Friday morning.

Upcoming fundraisers for the Post:
Fill the Wagon with liquor - currently in process. Raffle projected for January.
50/50 Raffles at every Post Saturday Dinner.
Taco Fundraiser night at Sonora Cantina - details pending.

Wednesday Noon-2pm Lunch Hamburger & chips $6.
Thursday 5pm TAL Meeting.
6pm Post Toy Drive Ends.
Friday Noon-closing: Hot Dogs, Chili Dogs & Chips.
3pm-6pm: Veterans Food Pantry.
Saturday 5pm-7pm SAL Dinner: Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes,
salad.
4:30pm-8:30pm Karaoke by Manolo.

Signups for dinner are requested as much in advance as possible for meal prep. Walk-ins are welcome if excess meals are available. Signup with our bartender in person, call the Post at 909-866-4845 during normal business hours or respond to this email.

Christmas Toy/Gift Drive for Needy Families.

Hello all,

The Post will be participating in a Toy/Gift Drive this Christmas. Since we are participating, the Discovery Center will be giving us approximately 150 free tickets to the new Alpine Zoo Wild Lights which will be distributed to needy families as well. The donated Toys/Gifts and tickets will be given to the Doves Outreach of Big Bear Valley. Doves holds a Santa's Workshop from December 15-19 where needy families can come in and pick out gifts, wrap them and give them to their kids on Christmas. Of course items should be new and unwrapped for babies, children of all ages and teenagers. Besides toys, gloves, beanies and mittens are a good idea as well.

Beginning immediately, you can drop off items at the Post during our normal business hours. We will collect items through December 11st and will deliver the items to Doves on December 12th.

Attention: Every Friday at the Post 3pm-6pm, Veterans Food Pantry.

All Veterans and their families are welcomed to participate in this Food Pantry, you do not need to be a member of our Post. Items are being provided by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 92 in Victorville and Second Chance Food Distribution. Items vary week to week, and the program is being supervised by our Post Member Lo Lozano. So please spend the word.

Attention all Veterans and Families of Veterans Living in the Big Bear Valley.

Please Note: You do not need to be a member of Post 584 to participate in this Food Pantry so pass this information along to any Veteran or Veteran's Family you know.

Post member retired U.S. Army Veteran Carmen "Lo" Lozano who works down the hill at the DAV Chapter 92 "Bill Kinnard" Unit distributing food for Veterans and Families of Veterans every Friday will now be spearheading a weekly Food Pantry at our Post.

Starting September 26, we will be offering a Veterans' Food Pantry every Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm or until all our food is distributed. The food is primarily fresh produce obtained from Second Chances. We will need one - two volunteers each week to help with this program. You are welcome to stop by and visit, too!

Our volunteers will:
1. Ensure that the person is indeed a Veteran - verified by American
Legion membership card, military ID, CA DL with the Veteran
designation, VA ID or DD 214 with a photo ID; or a
Veteran family member with a valid photo ID with Veteran's
DD214 or other Veteran-branded ID (VA ID, DOD ID, CA DL with
the Veteran designation).
2. The form is filled out completely and correctly.
3. Prepare a bag of food for the Veteran and ask about food
allergies or aversions.
4. Volunteers will need to be inquisitive, friendly, and engage in
conversation with our veterans.
5. Volunteers will need to sign up the week before to ensure we
have coverage.

At this time, we cannot accept donations. Hopefully, in the future, we may be able to expand our food pantry operations to include canned goods, dry goods, etc.
