⛺ Happy Campers! ⛺

Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley had a great time at Camp Soroptimist, our region’s Fall Meeting! Clubs gathered from across the Golden West Region's DIstrict 1&2 for a day filled with shared ideas, fresh inspiration, and plenty of support for one another. There’s nothing like a room full of women committed to making a difference.

We’re especially honored that our club was highlighted for our work with the Dream It, Be It program. Thank you to everyone who made the day so meaningful. We headed home energized and ready to keep empowering women and girls in our community! 🏔️🔥

💜 Wear purple today to show your support for survivors, honor their strength, and stand for a future free from abuse. By raising awareness, we can break the silence and remind survivors that they are not alone.

Through UpliftHER, Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley is shining a light on Intimate Partner Violence by empowering our community with awareness, education, and resources. Every encouraging conversation helps empower women and girls to recognize unhealthy relationships and seek support.

💜 HOW YOU CAN HELP: If someone you know is experiencing abuse, listen without judgment and let them know you are there for them. Avoid pressuring them to leave before they are ready. Instead, offer support, respect their choices, and help them connect with safe resources when they are ready. Sometimes, simply being a trusted, compassionate person can make all the difference.

Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley is breaking the silence on intimate partner violence 💜

Did you know that 1 in 3 women will experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime?

Intimate partner violence is more than physical abuse. It can include emotional, psychological, sexual, and financial abuse, as well as controlling behaviors that can leave survivors feeling isolated, afraid, and alone.

Through our UpliftHER quarterly initiative, we are committed to raising awareness, encouraging conversations, and reminding our community that no one deserves to experience abuse, and no one should have to face it alone. 💜

✨ Awareness is the first step.
✨ Compassion can make a difference.
✨ Support can help someone find their strength and their voice.

Let’s stand together to break the silence, end the stigma, and uplift those who need it most. Because when we support women and girls, we help build a safer, stronger community for everyone.

💜 You are seen. You are valued. You are not alone.
