The balloons have come down. The graduation gowns have been put away. The cake has been shared.
What remains are the skills, confidence, and plans that eight young women carry with them as they leave Kijiji Mission and step into the next chapter of their lives.
After 15 months of training, our graduates demonstrated more than tailoring skills. They presented handmade garments ranging from school uniforms and construction overalls to wedding attire and church vestments. They shared speeches, performed dances, and reflected on what they have learned—not only about sewing, but about discipline, responsibility, health, faith, and living alongside others.
For many of these graduates, the next step is already taking shape. Some are pursuing apprenticeships and internships. Others are preparing to launch small tailoring businesses in their communities.
One of the most memorable messages shared during the ceremony was simple:
"Knock on doors. Even the Bible says—knock, and the door will open. Ask, and you shall receive."
To Joyce, Tabitha, Jecinta, Valentine, Mercy, Naomi, Annie, and Hannah: we are proud of your commitment, your perseverance, and the courage you have shown throughout this journey.
Congratulations on your graduation. We look forward to seeing where the next chapter takes you.
