Biddeford Ready Biddeford Ready! Our mission is to ensure that all children in Biddeford enter school ready to thrive.

is a community-wide effort to help the youngest members of the Biddeford community – from birth to age 5 – get the resources they need to be ready to enter kindergarten and prepared to thrive in school and beyond. focuses on community-level change, building partnerships and developing committees to implement three strategies to support school readiness:

1. Increase access to affordable, high-qual

ity early care and education

2. Promote community awareness of the importance of early learning environments

3. Implement strategies to address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and build resilience in young children and families

We are not focused on developing a single program or strategy, but instead on supporting a mix of mutually reinforcing data-driven and evidence-based strategies to support school readiness. We have a strong bias toward leveraging and expanding existing programs, policies, practices, and approaches that are working – including better coordination of services for children and families – and developing new ones where there are important gaps.
