They've served in different branches and generations:

They're looking for simple connection. Sometimes it's just having someone to call, grab a coffee with, share a story, or spend a little time with who gets it.

Incredibly excited for this publication that will highlight Maine veterans!

This November, Turner Publishing is proud to announce our new publication, Maine Veterans Magazine. This publication is the passion project of our new veteran leadership, with the goal of connecting our Maine veteran communities to resources, good news stories, and local veteran owned businesses.

For the first edition this November, we would like to ask our readers to submit a response (250 words or less) to the prompt, "What does Veterans Day mean to you?" If you yourself are a veteran, "What does Veterans Day mean to you? Why did you serve and what do you miss?" Please submit your response to [email protected].

We are honored to share a powerful 9/11 video featuring one of our own board members, Leo Deon.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, Leo responded as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard National Strike Force, spending nearly eight weeks at Ground Zero.

His commitment to serving others didn't end there. Since December 2025, Leo has volunteered as a Vet2Vet Peer Companion and has already supported two veterans through peer connections. In February, he joined our Board of Directors, bringing that same spirit of service and dedication to Vet2Vet Maine.

We're proud to have him as a part of our team and grateful for the many ways he continues to serve.

We were proud to take part in the Voices Unlimited Maine Veterans, Military & Communities Connect Conference yesterday.

The day brough together people from across Maine for meaningful conversations around veteran su***de prevention, with inspiring speakers, thoughtful breakout sessions, and plenty of opportunities to connect and learn from one another.

We're grateful to be a part of a community that continues to come together, share ideas, and work toward making sure Maine veterans feel supported, connected, and never alone.

Thank you to Voices Unlimited and the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention for bringing everyone together for such an important day. ❤

A year ago, Dan (United States Coast Guard veteran) showed up to volunteer with us. He's been showing up ever since - steady, dependable, always ready to help.

That kind of consistency is a gift. For veterans working through isolation, knowing someone reliable will be there means more than we can really put into words.
