Nothing beats getting out on the water with fellow veterans! 🦞⚓️
We recently had an incredible day on a fishing and lobstering trip, hosted and sponsored by the wonderful team at House In The Woods. Vet2Vet Maine’s Executive Director, Maggie (Air Force), joined Army veteran Jesse for a great day off the coast, guided by Maine volunteer and veteran guide Mike Blair (Air Force).
Mike’s knowledge, professionalism, and warm hospitality made the day unforgettable. Opportunities like this remind us of the power of collaboration and the lifelong bond shared among those who served. A huge thank you to House in the Woods and Mike Blair for an exceptional experience! 🌲🌊

We are a Maine nonprofit with a simple belief: no veteran should have to face life alone.

Our Peer Companion Program connects veterans with trained veteran volunteers who understand the experience of serving. They spend time together, share stories, enjoy activities, build friendships, and help one another navigate life's challenges.

We serve veterans of all ages and service eras, and there are veterans across Maine waiting for connection.

September is Market Month for Vouchers for Veterans!

Throughout the month of September, Vouchers for Veterans will be at 10 different farmers markets each week across New Hampshire and Southern Maine.

Every veteran and active-duty service member is welcome to visit any participating market and receive a FREE $20 voucher to spend on fresh, locally grown foods and other related items. Our program is not based on financial need—it is simply our way of saying "Thank you for your service."

The impact goes far beyond the veterans we serve. When those vouchers are used, the farmers and market vendors redeem them with Vouchers for Veterans for their full face value. If 200 veterans receive vouchers at a market, that's $4,000 going directly into the hands of local farmers and food producers in a single day. Those farmers, in turn, spend that money in their own communities, supporting other local businesses.

It's a beautiful circle of neighbors helping neighbors—a giant circle of love that honors those who served while strengthening our local economy.

Because Vouchers for Veterans receives no state or federal funding, every voucher is made possible through the generosity of local businesses, organizations, foundations, and individuals who believe our veterans deserve this simple but meaningful "thank you."

Together, we're feeding veterans, supporting local agriculture, and investing in the communities we all call home. ❤️🇺🇸

What a fun night! ❤⚾💙

A little rain couldn't stop us! We had the honor of being recognized on the field before the Portland Seadogs game. Our evening included throwing out a ceremonial first pitch, catching a foul ball (and even some Sea Dogs swag), and the Sea Dogs walked it off with a win in the bottom of the 9th!

Most of all, it was a great chance to bring together volunteers, board members, and staff from across Maine. Thank you to the Portland Sea Dogs for making us feel so welcome and for helping shine a light on the mission of Vet2Vet Maine. 🇺🇸
