Heads up, super friends!

Next week Seeds of Hope’s day program will shift to bagged lunches to go only, while we complete a small, but much needed renovation on the first floor.

During this time, there will be no daytime showers, no resource access, and very limited services, and we will not be accepting donations.

We will have very limited staff inside, so phone calls may not be answered or returned in a timely manner. For urgent needs only, please email [[email protected]].

The Overnight Program (7pm-7am) will continue as usual, but we are at full capacity with a waitlist and cannot accept anyone new during the renovation.

The Family Center in Sanford will operate as usual.

We’re excited to share that we are adding a new downstairs bathroom and shower, installing energy efficient lighting, and refreshing the space with new flooring, ceiling, and paint.

We expect to return to normal operations by July 1, though construction timelines can shift. We’ll keep everyone updated as needed.

Thank you for your patience as we make these improvements for our neighbors.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason so many of us wake up in safety and freedom.

At Seeds, we also hold close the Veterans who are still with us, many of whom continue to carry wounds that aren’t always visible. Over 10% of our Overnight Program population are Veterans.

Not every Vet seeks or qualifies for VA services, and their reasons are as varied as their stories. But their worthiness of shelter, food, dignity and respect is never in question.

We are proud and honored to care for some of the most vulnerable Veterans in our community.

Today, we remember those we’ve lost, and we commit ourselves to those still fighting battles of their own.

Announcement: Seeds of Hope Assumes Operations of the Former York County Family Shelter

The Board of Directors of Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center, together with our Executive Director and dedicated staff, are thrilled to share that Seeds of Hope has assumed operations of the former York County Family Shelter, located in Sanford.

This marks an important step in our ongoing commitment to support families in York County who are experiencing housing instability.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the York County Shelter Programs (YCSP) for the many years they faithfully operated the family shelter.

Their leadership, staff, and volunteers have provided safety, stability, and hope to countless families.

The impact of their work is deeply felt throughout our community, and we honor the foundation they built.

As Seeds of Hope takes on this responsibility, we do so with gratitude for the trust placed in us and with a strong sense of purpose.

Our staff have worked diligently to prepare for this transition, ensuring that services will continue with the compassion, dignity, and respect that families deserve.

We look forward to strengthening partnerships across the county as we expand our capacity to meet the evolving needs of our neighbors.

Together, we remain committed to ensuring that every family in York County has access to a safe place to land and the support needed to move toward stability and hope.
