Once the rain stops and downstream flooding subsides, expect lake reservoirs to open their dam gates for major water release.

Due to high water downstream, we are releasing our minimum amount. You can see current lake and stream levels at https://www.lrh-wc.usace.army.mil/wm/?basin/sci/acs

Please don't pass the salt. FYI although salt may "dissolve" it does not degrade or break down. The sodium chloride (NaCl) moves into the ecosystem and continues to linger in the soil (killing plants) and in our waters (harming aquatic wildlife & contaminating aquifers).

Nearly $1 million is being invested to help Ohio communities reduce chloride pollution caused by road salt during harsh winter weather. This protects Ohio’s waterways while maintaining public safety on the roads.

Thanks to the volunteers who turned out Saturday to give some TLC to the Alum Creek corridor from Broad Street to Main Street, through Wolfe Park and Academy Park and along Nelson Road, Bryden Road and the Cleo Dumaree Athletic Complex. Honeysuckle still needs to be removed from these areas, by the City. 14 volunteers collected 14 bags of trash and we recycled 3 bags of bottles/cans.

Sun came out this morning for our Columbus Academy Park cleanup. Please help us.
