It can feel easy to find yourself comparing yourself to others with the endless “back to school” posts this time of year. We’re just here to remind you to put the device down because nothing is ever as “perfect” or “put together” as it might seem. You do you! You know what works and doesn’t work for your family and while others might not “understand” why your family does things certain ways, you can walk with confidence knowing you have a community of people cheering you on, supporting you, and riding this roller coaster together with you. We know this time of year has its own unique challenges and you are not alone to feel it!

What have you found works and doesn’t work for your family in the back to school season? Feel free to share!

🗒️ The Beverly School Committee of the Whole meets tonight, Wednesday, August 26th at 7:00 PM at the Beverly Middle School. These meetings are streamed in real-time and can be accessed both during the meeting and after the meeting as well (if you’re tuning in after the fact you can speed up the playback and still stay in the loop! 😉). There does not appear to be a slot for public comment at this meeting so any concerns you have can always be addressed to your ward representative or the school committee as a whole. We thank the members who serve on the committee for giving their time when everyone has a lot going on in their own lives. We are looking forward to a successful school year with the hopes of much collaboration and growth district-wide!

Dance 4 Every Body knows that dancing is about having fun, learning new skills, and self-expression. They also know that dance is for EVERY body no matter age, shape, size, gender, or experience level.

Every Body Moves is an adaptive dance class for children with autism taught by individuals who will meet each child where they are in a space that feels safe, predictable, and supportive.

Know an adult who would love to get their feet and body moving but might be limited in their mobility? Check out the seated tap class being offered as well! It’s so encouraging to see groups who know the needs of the community and are a source of empowerment as well.

🇺🇸 Are you a military family or know a military family with children receiving services? You may want to check out this upcoming virtual workshop designed specifically for our military families.

Navigating special education and disability services can be especially challenging for military families due to frequent moves and transitions, but you are not alone.💙❤️

If you are a military family or support military-connected families, we invite you to join us on September 24, 2026 from 12:00 - 1:30 PM via Zoom as PEATC, in partnership with the JBLE-Langley Military & Family Readiness Center, presents Anatomy of an IEP: Military Edition.

This virtual workshop breaks down each part of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) so families can better understand their child’s IEP, prepare for meetings, and participate as an equal member of the IEP team.
