debate, or dialogue between individuals and the School Committee. It is an individual’s
opportunity to express an opinion on issues within the School Committee’s authority.

This is SO important. Caregivers have the right to ask about the child's services rendered. If there is a staffing issue at the school, a notice should go out to families that services are not being rendered; this is considered the N1, or prior written notice. If the family has concerns, an IEP meeting should be held. If there is data to show the child is not making progress or had regression because services have not been provided, the family is due compensatory services. The family has a right to have a say in what those services look like. The KEY is there has to be DATA. Not rendering services is not enough of a reason for a family to file a complaint against the district IF it was divulged to the family in writing that services are not being provided. DATA will guide if the district owes services back. Families need to ask how is it being tracked on the days lost, how you are measuring progress, and how often progress is being measured. You cannot rely on the districts to track this ( they should) it is your responsibility to make sure you are tracking it too.

The state found MGRSD in noncompliance with IDEA and ordered compensatory services.

It’s that time of year when the Topsfield Fair comes to town! Monday, October 5th, 2026 is Sensory Day at the fair! Thank you Topsfield Fair for creating a dedicated day of inclusivity and for creating a dedicated space away from the crowds at any time while the fair is happening.

Beverly School Committee meets tonight!

🕕 Finance & Facilities Committee will meet at 6:00 PM in the Beverly Middle School Library.

🕕 Curriculum, Instruction, & Student Life Committee will also meet at 6:00 PM in the Beverly Middle School STEAM room.

🕖 The Committee of the Whole will meet at 7:15 PM in the Beverly Middle School Library. As always, BevCam will be providing real-time access through their channel and YouTube.
