10 years ago you came into our world and changed our lives forever. Not a day goes by we don’t think of you. In your 13 days you changed the lives of so many. In your memory we continue to change more! We are working with the NICU to continue raising funds to help all the other babies that need a little help!

When you follow the link below you will be brought to the DONATE NOW page. Select your donation amount, or enter an amount. Under GIFT INFORMATION click SELECT GIFT DESIGNATION and enter NICU.

Click the box that indicates you are making this donation in honor or memory of a person important to me. You'll then Choose IN MEMORY OF. At this point, you'll enter Emilia Marie DiGuardia. The next section is up to you. If you want us to be made aware of your donation, you can enter our address, which is 30 Chase Street, Beverly MA 01915 (or not, totally up to you). Then complete the form as needed and submit.

All the funds we have raised go to the NICU. They can be used for supplies, or for training on new technology or techniques. Having had two babies in the NICU, the NICU and its staff has a very special place in our hearts, and we'd like to give back to them as much as possible.

June 19th is just around the corner. It would have been Emilia’s 10th birthday. Wow. 10! We are going to work directly with the Development Team at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center to create a fundraiser for the NICU.

After Emilia died, we made a vow to share her story, our experience with Pre Eclampsia, having a preemie and then losing that baby. We found out a few days ago that the information we have been sharing actually helped a new mom recognize the signs of Pre E, get herself to her doctor, and in turn, deliver a healthy baby at 38 weeks. It feels so good to know that our story continues today, nearly 10 years later, and it continues to help others.

Today is National Infant and Pregnancy Loss Remembrance Day.

We are the parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and other members of families missing a large piece in the form of small children who were lost too soon.

We remember our little Emilia with tears in our eyes and love in our hearts, and love for all the others both lost and those left behind.

As we approach the beginning of the school year I want to thank everyone who donated to the Playground fund. If you sent a check, don’t worry, they are all still safe at the school and will be processed next week. I will share our total raised once everything is tallied up.

We are still collecting donations for the All Inclusive Playground at the Cove School in Beverly. Please see the June 2nd post that is pinned to the top of the page for details on how to donate.

On the anniversary of Emilia’s passing, we went to one of the local All Inclusive playgrounds to check out some of the structures and equipment they have.

As the ninth anniversary of Emilia's birth approaches, we are hoping to honor her legacy this year by helping create an accessible and all-inclusive playground at her brother and sister's elementary school. The children who could most use this playground currently play in a small courtyard - we want to create a large playground that all kids can use and have fun in.

If every person reading this donated $9 to the Cove School PTO, then we would be well on our way to helping create this playground and having our Emilia's legacy live on and on - always helping her little friends.
