On July 9, Soka Gakkai International (SGI) is launching the "Shift to Green" Photo & Video Contest in collaboration with Earth Charter International (ECI), Greenpeace Japan and Japan Youth Platform for Sustainability (JYPS).

In his 2020 Peace Proposal, SGI President Daisaku Ikeda stated:
“in our efforts to combat climate change it is crucial that we not only pursue the numerical target of limiting average global temperature increases but that we develop a shared vision of the world we wish to realize through solving the crisis, and further that we collectively take proactive measures toward the construction of that reality.”
