"The OCR complaint process was our only pathway for help." πŸ’”

When the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights goes silent, students are left without protection, and families are left without answers.

Ms. Magazine just published a powerful piece by Esther Warkov, co-founder of our partner organizations Stop Sexual Assault in Schools, on how the Trump administration refuses to use Title IX to protect students and what advocates, organizations, and students are doing to fight back.

The article highlights GLI as a way for students to get involved and bring this critical information directly to their schools and communities. If you're a student or educator who wants to take action, we'd love to have you join us: https://girlslearn.org/

Today is International Human Rights Day: a reminder that equality is a human right, not a privilege.

Girls Learn International clubs across 26 states and 18 countries are building a movement of informed advocates who are taking action on the issues that matter most: access to equitable education, reproductive health and rights, menstrual equity, comprehensive s*x education, civic engagement, and the Equal Rights Amendment.

Student-to-student, we're creating a new generation of leaders and activists for feminist change. Because human rights aren't negotiable, and young people have the power to protect them.

Calling GLI Alumni! Join the 2025-2026 Advisory Board 🌟

Remember when you first learned that advocacy could change the world? Now it’s time to pass that spark to the next generation.

Girls Learn International is building the 2025-2026 Advisory Board, and we need passionate alumni and young professionals who are ready to expand GLI’s impact. With 160+ active Chapters across 28 states and 14 countries, we’re training thousands of young people ages 10-18 to become bold advocates for human rights and gender equity.

Why join? This is your chance to lead strategic initiatives and shape GLI’s future while reconnecting with the work that matters. Board members will focus on:

✨ Mentorship & Chapter Support – Empowering the next generation by mentoring middle and high school GLI students, guiding their activism, and helping them bridge the gap from classroom to career.

✨ Community Building & Networking – Building connections across GLI by hosting events that bring together advocates, alumni, and allies.

✨ Advocacy & Education – Leading initiatives that advance education access, reproductive health, comprehensive s*x education, and the fight against structural inequality.

The commitment:
β†’ 1-year term (renewable)
β†’ Bi-monthly board meetings
β†’ Collaborate with Board members and GLI Senior Leadership to plan and execute projects + initiatives throughout the year, including GLI programming the U.N. Commission on Status of Women.
