Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue

We are a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to saving dogs from high-kill shelters. This ultimately grew into the non-profit Ace of Hearts.

Kari Whitman founded her non-profit Ace of Hearts in 2001 after her amazing American Bulldog "Ace" passed away. She had rescued Ace from death row at a shelter in 1990 and was immediately smitten! When he died, she channeled her grief and frustration into trying to save other shelter dogs like Ace and finding them loving homes.

We just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who helps us in our mission to rescue dogs in Southern California and find them their forever home. Whether it’s volunteers at our Adoption Events helping us raise awareness, fosters making it possible for us to rescue pups, or supply donors who help us feed and treat our four legged friends. Meet Stuart! Stuart was rescued from Skid Row only to end up at a shelter who euth listed him. Thanks to a tip from Joey Tuccio we were able to coordinate a pull! Donate to help us nurse Stuart back to full health so he can be on his way to finding his forever home 🏡

During these events we restock our fosters with all of their supplies as well as promote our pups in our foster system to find their forever home! Come for a couple hours or for the whole event, any hours you can volunteers helps us out tremendously! Lunch is provided 🍕
