Farm Hands Needed! 🚜🌾

Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work? We are looking for reliable, hardworking farm hands to help keep our property in top shape.

If you love working outdoors and don't mind getting your hands dirty, we want you on our team!

Key Responsibilities:

• 🔨 Fencing Upkeep: Repairing, reinforcing, and maintaining pasture fence lines.

• 🧹 Barn & Stall Maintenance: Mucking, cleaning, and organizing stalls to ensure a safe environment.

• 🪵 Play Area Maintenance: Keeping animal enrichment and play areas clean, secure, and ready for action.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience with basic hand tools and physical farm labor is a plus.

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.

• Ability to lift heavy loads and work in various weather conditions.

We need a few helping hands at Wagon Tails! Here’s what these volunteer roles involve:

🐾 Jacksonville PetSmart Event Coordinator: Set up one adoption event each month, working directly with our Membership Director & Foster Coordinator.

🐾 Adoption Follow-Ups: Check in with adopters to see how everyone is settling in & help connect them with support.

🐾 Listings Coordinator: Work directly with our Foster Coordinator to keep adoptable animals’ photos, bios & listings updated.

🍖 BarkBCue: Help bring our fundraiser to life, working directly with our Executive Director & Farm Coordinator.

Now that Dandelion has been rescued and treated at Five Oaks Vet Hospital she is ready to go home to her fosters house!
We are looking for volunteers to pick her up from Five Oaks in Kinston and brought to Wilmington tomorrow 10/12 anytime (weather permitting)! Please reach out to us if you are available!

🛋️ Meet Kenny, the ultimate professional couch potato! 🛋️

If your ideal day includes soft blankets, squeaky toys, and a companion who takes nap time very seriously, then Kenny is the purebred ball of fun you’ve been searching for!

This handsome boy loves a quick romp around the yard with his dog friends or a casual game of fetch, but his true passion in life? Sleeping.

His foster parent says it is practically like pulling teeth to get Kenny to do anything that doesn't involve laying down! He is the absolute perfect match for someone looking for a low-key sweetheart to snuggle with.

Here is what makes Kenny so special:

🧸 Toy Extraordinaire
Kenny absolutely loves toys of all kinds, but squeaky toys are his absolute favorite. He will happily carry them around with him, just celebrating the pure joy of the squeak!

🐾 Ideal Home & Boundaries
Kenny is truly the best boy, but he has a sensitive side. Because of his unknown past, he has a hard time trusting physical restraint.

• Adult Friends: A calm, mature home with adult human friends is the best fit for his needs.

• A Little Space: Since kiddos might not understand his need for personal space, a home without kids is ideal.

• Vet Day Prep: He just needs a little extra thoughtful planning and patience for those pesky vet visits!

Meet Torque Wrench, a sweet little lady who has fully mastered the art of being a "catty cat." 😂 Tori is an independent girl who enjoys life at her own pace. She is perfectly happy doing her own thing, finding a cozy spot, and keeping an eye on the household.

Her daily to-do list is highly professional:
• ☀️ Find the perfect sunbeam.
• 🛏️ Take an essential nap.
• 👀 Observe suspicious household activity.
• 🐾 Investigate something mildly interesting.

Thanks to our wonderful volunteer drivers, Dandelion, has been treated for Parvo and is showing signs of improvement after her monoclonal treatment while being hospitalized! We are over joked that she is doing well, but we need your help - just the single vial of treatment she received is over $200 and that doesn't include all of the supportive care and testing she's receiving as well.

We need donations now more than ever so we can continue to take in pups like Dandelion!! Every $ makes a difference, whether it's $1 or $1000, it helps us make sure dogs like Dandelion have a chance to get the treatment they need!
