🌟 Michigan 4-H Spectacular Youth Leadership Institute Registration is OPEN! 🌟

Calling all teen leaders! Join fellow Michigan 4-H youth for an exciting, hands-on leadership experience November 20–22, 2026, in Roscommon! Youth ages 13 and older by January 1, 2027, will build leadership skills, explore community engagement and global citizenship, connect with other teen leaders, and—most importantly—have FUN! 🎉

💚 An incredible value thanks to a Michigan 4-H Foundation grant!

📅 When: November 20–22, 2026
📍 Where: Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center, Roscommon, MI
💲 Cost: $150, including meals, snacks, program materials, transportation, and overnight accommodations.

You are invited to attend the Benzie-Manistee 4-H Advisory Council meeting this Thursday at 6pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arcadia (17191 3rd St, Arcadia, MI 49613). We will be in a back classroom.

The purpose of the Advisory Council is to assist in planning, helping, advising, and promoting the 4-H Youth Program in Benzie & Manistee Counties, and ensure:
Youth develop positive relationships with adults and peers.
Youth are physically and emotionally safe.
Youth are actively engaged in their own development.
Youth are considered participants rather than recipients in the learning process.
Youth develop skills that help them succeed.
Youth recognize, understand, and appreciate multiculturalism.
Youth grow and contribute as active citizens through service and leadership.
We are looking for new members to join us! To join, you must be either a Gold Volunteer with 4-H, an active and enrolled youth member in either Benzie or Manistee County and nominated by a current Council Member.

Our business this meeting will be paying some Benzie 4-H Soccer bills, recruiting new members, and discuss what projects/events the Council might like to support for the coming program year.

🌾 Farming is challenging. Through the Managing Farm Stress program, MSU Extension delivered 74 workshops reaching more than 1,700 participants statewide, with leadership based right here in Benzie County. County funding helps support local Extension staff who bring these resources to our communities.

🌻 MSU Extension Master Gardener volunteers contributed 740 hours in Benzie County in 2025, providing over $25,000 in community value through education, beautification projects, and pollinator conservation efforts. Local funding helps support these services.

👶 Benzie County teens completed MSU Extension's Babysitters Club this year, earning valuable safety, childcare, CPR, and business skills to serve local families. Programs like this are part of the community impact of MSU Extension.

🍀 Benzie County 4-H enrolled 197 youth this year, including 66 Cloverbuds beginning their journey in positive youth development. County support helps connect local youth to opportunities that build life skills, leadership, and community involvement.

⚽ This year, 143 Benzie County youth participated in 4-H Soccer, building teamwork, confidence, and leadership with the support of volunteer coaches and community partners. Local funding helps make programs like these possible through MSU Extension.

Stop by and say hi! Tomorrow Benzie 4-H will be set up at the Honor's Farmer's Market at Maley Park (10579 Main St, Honor) from 9a to 2p!

We will be enrolling for Benzie 4-H Soccer's Fall season and just sharing general information about 4-H! We will also be accepting any donations of gently used soccer equipment if you have any you would like to give back to the program to help the next generation of players.
