NYC has 660,000+ trees on its Tree Inventory but has none. L.A has 600,000 trees only has 1. -The Pterocarya fraxinifolia, aka Caucasian Wingnut. (a wingnut from the Caucasus Mountains.) Bettendorf now has 15 new recruits in addition to the 3 already planted in Bettendorf, (Ernie, Bernie, and Arnie). They are trees found in parks throughout Europe but not the US. Grand in scale, and elegant in form, I had to plant seeds from 5 sources in Europe and Russia to find 1 source that survived winter of 2018-19 @ -33F. Visit "Ernie" at Veterans Memorial.
