Red maples (Acer rubrum) are known to be salt intolerant.
In 2022 TAU recommended that the red maples had been planted
by a contractor at 18th and Grant across from K&K be moved
and replaced with something that could handle road salt.
Today, front red maple is dead and is still its original size.
Back red maple was spared the road salt and is twice the size.
