NYC has 660,000+ trees on its Tree Inventory but has none. L.A has 600,000 trees only has 1. -The Pterocarya fraxinifolia, aka Caucasian Wingnut. (a wingnut from the Caucasus Mountains.) Bettendorf now has 15 new recruits in addition to the 3 already planted in Bettendorf, (Ernie, Bernie, and Arnie). They are trees found in parks throughout Europe but not the US. Grand in scale, and elegant in form, I had to plant seeds from 5 sources in Europe and Russia to find 1 source that survived winter of 2018-19 @ -33F. Visit "Ernie" at Veterans Memorial.

Worse than dry, is really wet than dry. Especially for new trees.
One cause of the late fall color is the way above average Sep. temperature trend line.
