CLUB TRANSITION REVIEW

DEBORAH JUDY
Plus 60 Board Member

The Quad City Plus 60 Club Board of Directors announced in January a major transition for the Club: a new logo, a new website, a change to annual membership, and an increased use of electronic communications.
We acknowledge that change can be hard; but we needed to ensure the Club was able to continue for the next 50 years. This shift marks a change from the previous model where administrative tasks were both funded and handled by a major sponsor. We learned late last year that those tasks would no longer be supported and would come to the Club Board to manage these responsibilities. These changes required us to establish a new website and secure club administrative software; which also came at a cost. We could not support the club with the previous dues structure.
The new structure introduced two specific membership categories: Annual Individual Membership ($10/year) and Annual Household Membership ($20/year). The system will automatically notify you via email [30 days/5 days] before your expiration date that your renewal is due.
We’ve had the new website and club software in place since February. These new processes have also helped us uncover address, phone, and most importantly email corrections that we had not been informed about. No membership cards will be distributed, and you won’t have to remember a membership number.
This new integrated system promotes on-line registration. Have you registered for an event this Spring? The first check is to confirm active membership. We’ve received positive feedback that members appreciate immediate knowledge that they are registered for an event, rather than ‘hoping’ a mailed registration is received in time.
We encourage you to activate your account. Perhaps you missed the automated email that provided you with login credentials and a temporary password. If you no longer have this information, please call our club phone [563-370-4566] and request a password reset; this will prompt an email to come to you with new login instructions.
We thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we work through this transition period of multiple major changes.

Final Frames of the Season

TERESA MASSA
Plus 60 President

The final Plus 60 bowling event of the season wrapped up with plenty of laughter, encouragement, and celebration as 32 bowlers gathered for one last afternoon on the lanes before summer break.
One of the biggest highlights of the day came when Donna Weeks rolled her very first 200 game — an exciting achievement that brought cheers and applause from fellow bowlers. The supportive spirit of the group was on full display, as members celebrated every strike, spare, and accomplishment together.
The event also welcomed several first-time bowlers who quickly discovered what makes the Plus 60 bowling group so special — friendly competition, lots of fun, and enthusiastic encouragement from everyone participating.
Adding even more excitement to the afternoon were four lucky draw prize winners: Kelly Luallen, Russ Stark, Gene Oetzmann, and Laura Chalberg.
While the season has officially come to a close, bowlers are already looking forward to returning to the lanes when Plus 60 bowling resumes on Wednesday, September 30.
As always, the event proved that Plus 60 activities are about much more than scores — they are about friendship, laughter, and supporting one another every step of the way.

New York, New York!

EARLY BIRD SAVINGS AVAILABLE – BUT ONLY THROUGH JUNE 4!

From the moment the first lights are strung along Fifth Avenue to the final curtain call on Broadway, New York City transforms into a glittering wonderland that has captivated visitors for generations. Towering Christmas trees, horse-drawn carriages, the smell of roasted chestnuts drifting through the crisp December air, and the infectious energy of millions of people celebrating together — New York at the holidays is an experience that stays with you for a lifetime.
Iconic landmarks take on a whole new brilliance this time of year. The storied streets of Greenwich Village glow warmly with festive decorations, while Rockefeller Center and its legendary tree become the beating heart of the city’s holiday spirit.
