My friend and business parter, Kristin, and I are starting up Dragonfly Ranch. An organization to provide additional assistance to those with intellectual disabilities to gain additional skills to help them in obtaining gainful employment. The dream is to one day own a farm with a barn and provide sustainability, education, work experience, social experiences and have fun! Here on ou
r ranch, you aren’t just a person, you become family. We started this journey recognizing disabled people don't have a future after graduation. We then realized how much we see our kids as anyone else in this world. We hope to be the change we need to see. The change is, be comfortable talking and working with anyone. So our ranch recognizes all the same, everyone is unique with different abilities. We welcome all with intellectual disabilities to work the ranch, as well gain the outdoor experience home on our ranch. Nature trails, track course, equestrian activities... The list continues! We have our idea of the property we want in mind... And it's been amazing touring the different facilities. Sadly in the making this dream into a reality, Alison passed away. Her daughter, Shauna, has now stepped in as co-partner. Her enthusiasm, artistic abilities and now learning how to be the caregiver of her sister has added another wonderful dimension to Dragonfly Ranch.
