BES is a faith-based partnership that provides care and hospitality for the homeless in our community. Overnight sheltering provided November through April.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘇𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀/𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗿𝘀!!

June 6th and 7th was another busy weekend for the Weekend Bagged Lunch Program at Church UCC. On Saturday, Morningstar Living (Heritage Village) donated lunches for 140 friends. Then on Sunday, the Freezer Food Ministries and Garden Gatherers grilled hotdogs, made warm sausage and pepper sandwiches, and had the best selection of fresh veggies for 84 friends.

Thanks to the wonderful contributions of these volunteers, 224 people dealing with food insecurity were able to have a nutritious meal on a warm weekend. The giving spirit of our volunteers is amazing!!!

Our thanks go out this week to the Lehigh Valley volunteers of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia. They prepared lunches for the Weekend Bagged Lunch Program and then served 90 people who came to the shelter in need of a nutritious meal.

Thanks to your kindness and diligent work, members of the Bethlehem community dealing with food insecurity found a helping hand.

On Saturday, May 30th, our friends from UCC Greenawalds served up 130 lunches to people in Bethlehem managing food insecurity. Thank you so much for your generosity and selflessness as your looked after those in need in our community!!

𝗔 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝘂𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗔 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲

On Thursday, June 4th, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers on Airport Road in Allentown will donate a portion of food sales to the shelter. That means when you enjoy one of Red Robin's signature burgers for lunch or dinner, you will help those in the community who struggle with homelessness.

The fundraiser includes in-store and online orders. Please follow the instructions on the flyer below so BES receives credit for your order.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗢𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵!!

Food insecurity exists in Bethlehem. Last Sunday, a wonderful group of volunteers from Our Lady of Perpetual Help RC helped our neighbors cope by donating and serving 97 lunches as part of the Weekend Bagged Lunch Program.

Thank you so much for your willingness to lift up people in our community!

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗘𝗽𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁!!

In spite of a steady downpour, the kind volunteers from Epworth United Methodist Church donated and served 150 lunches to our neighbors on Saturday, May 23rd as part of the ongoing Weekend Bagged Lunch Program.

To put that many meals in context, the lunch program typically serves about 200 lunches on Saturday and Sunday combined..

Thank you for your dedication and giving spirit! Our friends and neighbors appreciated your efforts to help them deal with food scarcity.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗦𝘁. 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗨𝗖𝗖!!

On Sunday, May 17th, St. Thomas UCC volunteers donated 77 lunches to the Weekend Bagged Lunch Program. Thanks to their generosity, our neighbors, many of whom deal with food insecurity, received a hearty meal served by a caring hand.

The Bagged Lunch Program began with a few volunteers preparing peanut butter sandwiches. Over the last year it has evolved into a mission that prepares and donates well over 200 lunches a weekend, every weekend.

Many thanks go out to our generous friends at Trinity Lutheran Church at Rosemont who served 120 lunches on Saturday, May 16th as part of the Weekend Bagged Lunch Program.

Anyone who comes to the Christ Church UCC door from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday receives a nutritious lunch prepared by volunteers. On an average weekend, more than 200 lunches are prepared and served to the community.
