Join us on Wednesday, March 24, 2027, at the DeSales University Center as we celebrate the achievements, contributions, and accomplishments of individuals with developmental disabilities in Lehigh and Northampton Counties. This special event recognizes Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and honors people who make a difference in our community every day.

Eligible nominees must be individuals with a developmental disability who receive disability-related services in Lehigh or Northampton County.

Great things are happening at RHD, and we’re just getting started!

Since 2007, Resources for Human Development Lifesharing has been supporting individuals throughout Northeast Pennsylvania to live in homes where they feel valued, connected, and truly part of their community.

Now, we’re excited to take the next step and expand Lifesharing across Pennsylvania, creating even more opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism to choose where and how they live, build meaningful relationships, and pursue the life they want.

Lifesharing is more than a place to live. It’s about belonging, choice, connection, and creating a home where each person can be supported as an individual while staying connected to the people and communities that matter most to them.

As we grow, we’re excited to build new partnerships, welcome new Lifesharing providers and families, and introduce more people across Pennsylvania to what Lifesharing can make possible.

More choice. More connection. More possibilities.

This week, RHD is shining the spotlight on our Lifesharing program and Assistant Regional Director, Amy Rush. RHD Lifesharing started in 2007 with one family, one home, and one person at the center. Today, and through Amy’s leadership, we support 50+ individuals and Lifesharing families across Northeast Pennsylvania—creating real homes, meaningful connections, and lives filled with choice, dignity, and belonging.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Amy Rush
Assistant Regional Director, RHD Lifesharing

Amy started with RHD in 2012 as a Direct Support Professional and has grown her impact through roles focused on quality, provider support, and program operations—leading with person-centered values and connection.

Amy demonstrates leadership by providing personalized support that is carefully adapted to each person's distinct preferences. As President of the Lehigh Valley Supports Coalition and Northeast Co-Chair of the PA Lifesharing Coalition, Amy takes an active role in advocacy and partnership projects within these organizations.

What is Lifesharing?

Lifesharing is a residential model where individuals live in private family homes and are welcomed, included, and supported as part of everyday life.

It’s not about shifts or schedules. It’s about shared meals, routines, laughter, growth, and belonging, built on relationships, not systems.

-Host Home support: Ongoing support and connection within a welcoming family home.

-Respite options: Short-term support that maintains consistency and quality of care.

-Natural family Lifesharing: Support for relatives/close supports who already provide care.

Behind every home and every match is a Lifesharing team bringing compassion, creativity, and commitment—so people are not only safe and supported, but truly living their best lives.

Statewide, Lifesharing continues to be recognized as a highly rated service model that supports an everyday life—reflecting strong satisfaction, connection, and stability.

Today, we remember Brandon.

Brandon’s journey was one of resilience, growth, and connection. In 2023, he was recognized with a Self-Advocacy Achievement Award, reflecting the progress he made and the strength he showed throughout his life.

Brandon touched the lives of many and will be remembered for the relationships he built, the joy he shared, and the lasting impact he made on those who had the privilege of knowing and caring for him
