We are working on a Mini-Grant Project with Northampton County Conservation District and Watershed Coalition of the Lehigh Valley at Lower Saucon Township Heller Homestead Park. We are excited to make the necessary improvements to the walking trail, including new signage and the planting of trees. We are pleased to announce that the two journaling benches were built and installed by Building Solutions LLC. The project will be completed by late Fall of 2026.

Build and learn about the benefits of rain barrels at Penn State Extension workshop

Anyone interested in learning about the benefits of rain barrels on their property can construct their own at an upcoming Penn State

Extension workshop.
Coopersburg: 6-7 p.m. July 1, Southern Lehigh Public Library, 3200 Preston Lane.

Hosted by the Coopersburg Garden Club, and led by Penn State

Extension Master Watershed Stewards, this event offers participants the opportunity not only to learn about the advantages of rain barrels but also to construct their own.

Whether one is keen on conserving water, controlling stormwater, or nurturing their lawn and garden, a rain barrel can make a significant difference, organizers noted.

During the workshop, you will construct your own rain barrel and delve into topics such as stormwater management, best practices for homeowners, the anatomy of a rain barrel, maintenance tips, and how to properly connect it to your downspout.
