HAVEN Youth Group - Bethlehem HAVEN is a social & support group for gay, le***an, bisexual, transgender, q***r, questioning, intersex, & allied youth ages 14 to 20.

HAVEN is hosted and sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley (UUCLV). HAVEN is a program of the church. However, it is NOT a religious group. There will be no preaching or attempts to convert anyone. The church provides the space to meet. Funding is provided by donations. People of any religion or no religion are welcome at HAVEN. HAVEN encourages parent involvement. However, in order to protect confidentiality and a sense of safety for the youth, parents are not allowed at meetings. They are encouraged to talk with facilitators outside of the meetings. There will always be a minimum of 2 trained adult facilitators in the meeting. Facilitators are both church & community members.

I'm sad to report the passing of Ilse Stoll Zinnes, the founder of HAVEN. Ilse and the UUCLV started HAVEN some 20 years ago when HAVEN was the only place in the LV for LGBTQ teens to gather and meet one another. How things have changed. Thank you Ilse for everything you have done. Pete P
