We’ve been sharing photos of the LAMN team lately, and we also want to share what you’re helping that team accomplish: this week, we approved over $30,000 in equipment grants, with another $30,000 in the pipeline for November!

Those grants mean equipment that helps people with disabilities live with greater independence, comfort, and access. Your support helps make this work possible.

There’s more to come, but for now, we’re excited to be planning a campaign that celebrates the talent, creativity, and leadership within the disability community.

A little heads-up because next week, we’re going to need you. 👀

LAMN was selected as one of just five nonprofit organizations to participate in The Big Give Back, an interactive campaign that gives the community the power to vote for the organizations they want to support.

And there’s a lot on the line:
1st Place: $10,000 Community Grant
2nd Place: $5,000 Community Grant
3rd Place: $5,000 Community Grant
4th Place: $2,500 Community Grant
5th Place: $2,500 Community Grant

Which means every organization walks away with funding but your votes can help LAMN turn $2,500 into $10,000.

Public voting opens next week (10/11-10/17), and when it does, we’re going to be asking this incredible community to show up for LAMN.

We’ll share everything you need to know when voting officially opens. For now, get those voting fingers ready. 😂

Independence can look different for everyone. It might mean getting around your home more easily, communicating in a way that works for you, or having the equipment to do more of what you love.

At LAMN, we help as many people as we can access adaptive equipment and assistive technology that can make those everyday moments possible. 💛

2,100+ families. 💛

In 2015, we committed ourselves to building programs that could make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

We simply believed that people with disabilities deserved better access to the equipment, technology, and support they needed to live more independent lives.

Today, we're incredibly grateful to share that, through our programs, more than 2,100 individuals and families have received assistance.

That number represents so much more than a statistic.

It's a child receiving their first adaptive bike.
A parent getting the lift that makes caregiving safer.
A student receiving assistive technology to succeed in school.
A family finding emergency support during an incredibly difficult season.
A scholarship recipient pursuing a dream.
A business becoming more accessible to its community.

Every application has a story. Every grant represents a person who trusted us with a piece of their life.

To every donor, volunteer, sponsor, board member, partner, and supporter who has made this possible: thank you. This milestone belongs to all of us.

Things that would've surprised 2012 Sarah and Shane (cousins/cofounders of LAMN and, yes, this photo is well over a decade old):

• Cities raising Disability Pride flags.
• Businesses asking how to become more accessible.
• Wheelchair users becoming major content creators.
• Captions becoming the norm instead of the exception.
• Accessibility consultants being hired by companies.
• Adaptive sports filling stadiums.
• Disability representation becoming part of marketing conversations.

We still have a long way to go.

But we've also come farther than many people realize. 💙
