Sending a huge Team Bethlehem THANK YOU to wonderful friends for supporting our athletes!

Dale Koehler & Sons Farm donated the hay bales and corn stalks we will be using to decorate our parade float.

Allure Lawn and Landscape is allowing us to borrow one of their trailers for the parade.

Grateful to have such kind and generous community partners. Thank you, Koehler’s and Allure!!!

Halloween Parade Information

The Parade is this Sunday the 25th and the parade itself starts at 2pm (but we need to be there earlier than that).

Our theme is HAVE A BALL WITH SPECIAL OLYMPICS! You can wear a uniform, or some other sports-oriented gear.

We could use more candy! If you’re able, please bring a bag of small, individually wrapped candy pieces along to donate to our float.

We are assigned to Division 4, and our float’s starting point is on Broad Street between 12th and 13th. This is the block of Broad Street where The Family Dollar store is located. We don’t know which side of Broad our float will be stationed, but we’ll be somewhere on the same block as Family Dollar.

We are parking our cars at the end of Main Street, in the parking lot across from the Wooden Match restaurant (where all the food tents are located during Musikfest). If you put in the address of 101 W. Lehigh Street, Bethlehem 18018 – it will take you to the parking lot.

If you are parking your car, Coach Matt will be on hand to provide rides from the parking lot by the Wooden Match up to the Broad Street location. He’ll be using the parade float truck to do this.

Please note - if you will need a ride up to Broad Street from the Wooden Match parking lot, YOU MUST ARRIVE TO THE PARKING LOT NO LATER THAN 12:40PM. We need to have the truck for the float parked on Broad Street by 12:45pm. If you miss Matt’s last ride up, you will have to get yourself up to Broad Street – we won’t be able to come back down to get you.

If your family is dropping you off (and you don’t need to park your car at the end of the parade route), have them drop you off directly to the Broad Street location. Keep in mind Broad Street will be shut down, so you will need to make your way there via side streets. You should plan to arrive at Broad Street near the Family Dollar between 1:00pm and 1:30pm.

Families who are dropping athletes off up on Broad Street – please temporarily park your car on a side street and walk your athlete over to us.

After the parade, your family needs to pick you up at the bottom of Main Street in the parking lot across from The Wooden Match. You can use the street address of 101 W. Lehigh Street in Bethlehem 18018 to enter into your GPS to find the parking lot.

Coach Matt went to both the Family Dollar block on Broad Street, as well as the parking lot across from the Wooden Match and made short videos to show everyone exactly where we will be. One video is attached to this post, and the other is posted in the first comment below.

Team Bethlehem is hosting our annual Raffle Drawing, and tickets are on sale now!

The drawing will take place at 6pm on December 4th right here on Facebook Live.

Our Dine-to-Donate event at PJ Whelihan’s is 2 days away!!

PJ’s in Bethlehem will be donating 15% of sales (both dine-in & carry-out) that mention ‘Special Olympics’ when ordering this Wednesday, October 21st.

So take the day off from cooking, and plan to join us at PJ’s in Bethlehem on on Wednesday. Can’t wait to see you there!

JOIN US FOR THE BETHLEHEM HALLOWEEN PARADE!!!

One week from today, Special Olympics will be participating in the annual Bethlehem Halloween parade! Our athletes & coaches will be riding on (and walking behind) a float, where they will be tossing candy out to all of the kids lining the parade route.

We are gratefully accepting donations of candy to this effort – the athletes absolutely LOVE bringing smiles to the faces of the kiddos at the parade.

Athletes, Families, Volunteers, and Coaches - we are in need of help for our upcoming Car Wash fundraiser, and it’s super easy stuff!

Our friends from Upper Bucks Special Olympics have asked for our help running this event, so all money raised will be split 50-50 between Team Upper Bucks and Team Bethlehem. Here’s the scoop…

Tommy's Express Car Wash in Quakertown is generously donating up to 50% of all their sales on November 7th to our programs. This is an automated car wash, so we do NOT need anyone to wash cars.  We will be there to cheer on customers and host a Bake Sale table in the parking lot.

 We Need:

1. Athletes and Coaches to volunteer to be there that day to wave to customers, man the Bake Sale table, and thank people for coming out to support Special Olympics. Sign-ups are set up for one-hour shifts, and everyone should plan to wear some sort of Special Olympics Gear (including some Medals)!

2. People to donate baked goods that we can sell during the event.

3.  Those who live near Quakertown, or who have friends and family that do, to come out to get their cars washed at Tommy’s Express that day.


📆When: Saturday, November 7th

📍Location: Tommy’s Express Car Wash. 920 S West End Blvd, Quakertown

⏳Time: Event runs from 10am until 3pm, and we have the day broken up into one hour shifts. You can sign up for 1 shift, a couple of shifts, or plan to spend the whole day with us.

Today is the LAST day to sign up for Winter Sports!

Team Bethlehem will be offering the following sports this winter:

If you are interested in either Skiing or Snowboarding, you can find those being offered by some of the other programs in our Region (like Team Lehigh and Team Northampton).
