For The Love Of Alex Inc We provide emergency funding for life-saving veterinary care for pets from low-income families. We are not just an animal charity, we help families too.

BROWNIE IS ENJOYING LIFE AGAIN! 🙌
It has been 8 weeks since we helped Brownie with the cost of his hemilaminectomy surgery, a procedure to decompress his spinal cord. Without surgery, Brownie could have become paralysed.

Brownie’s recovery was long; he was crated for 6 weeks, followed by 2 weeks of leashed walks only to build up his strength. Brownie had a checkup, and he was cleared to resume normal activity.

Brownie is back to enjoying his walks at the park. His mom said, "It's a miracle he has made a full recovery. I am so grateful and happy for him; he's such an amazing little fella. Thank you for giving him a chance!! I will forever be so grateful for you and your foundation. He means so much to me.” 🐶

PUT THE PURR BACK IN DORAMI! 😻
Dorami from Pennsylvania has been drooling, pawing at her mouth, dropping food, and has lost weight. She was diagnosed with severe periodontal disease, which is an irreversible infection that destroys the bone and ligaments supporting the teeth.

Dorami needs two infected teeth removed, along with intraoral X-rays and thorough scaling and polishing. The procedure is estimated at $1,200.00; however, she may need additional teeth pulled.

Dorami’s mom relies on Medicaid and a limited part-time job that barely covers basic living expenses. She said, “I am experiencing severe financial hardship, and I am unable to pay for this medical treatment without assistance. Dorami is a sweetheart, and it’s been hard seeing her struggle to eat and knowing that she needs this surgery, and I can not afford it. She’s even lost her precious purr.”

SMOKEY'S LIFE WAS SAVED! 🙌
We helped with Smokey's urgent surgery after he fell and fractured his humerus. Due to the time elapsed since the accident, amputation was the only option. Smokey had a post-surgical check-up and suture removal.

Smokey's surgeon is happy with his recovery, and he doesn't need further treatment. The incision hadn't fully closed, and though Smokeywasn't too happy about it, he had to wear his cone for a few more days. But today, Smokey is cone-free! 😽

Smokey's mom was facing euthanizing her sweet boy because she did not have the funds to pay for his surgery. Thankfully, she found us, and we were able to help. Sadly, every day, a pet loses its life because of financial hardship. We try to bridge that gap, but that takes donations.

HELP DORAMI GET HER PURR BACK! 😻

OLIVER WILL WALK AGAIN! 🐈
We helped with the cost of Oliver's surgery to repair his torn cranial cruciate ligament (ACL). The surgery went well, and his surgeon discovered that his ligament was torn in 2 places. Oliver is home recovering. He will be on crate rest for 6 weeks.

Two days post-op, Oliver seemed to be having more pain than normal despite the medications he was prescribed, and wasn’t eating much. His surgeon gave him a pain injection and an appetite stimulant, and his mom said he was doing much better. 🙏

Oliver will have a post-op check-up and follow-up X-rays in 10 days. We will have more updates soon! Oliver’s mom said. “Thank you so much; I am so grateful for all of your help. You saved our boy!”

Oliver’s medical care cost $4,170.50, more than the estimated cost due to the second tear in the ligament and pain management. We used funds from the Emergency Fund to cover the balance.

BISHOP IS FEELING WOOF-DERFUL! 🐶
We helped with Bishop's surgery to remove a painful tumor growing between his back legs that rubbed his skin while he walked, often leading to painful bleeding and restricting his movement.

The surgery went well, and the tumor was sent to the laboratory for analysis. Bishop will have a post-op checkup and suture removal in 10 days. His mom said, “He is doing wonderful! Back to his old self! He's eating and drinking. He is playing, but I'm keeping his activity down a bit. I am forever indebted to you all!”

We will have more updates on this adorable little pup soon!
