In 2025, The Freezer Ministry and Garden Gatherers programs provided 150,000 meals to churches, schools, community groups, and agencies.

Bob Wingrove was a caterer for nearly 2 decades - now he uses those talents to run the organization. Check them out at freezerministry.org

Our next gathering is 10/29, 5:30 pm at the Wilbur Mansion - join us! 🍾

MSR president Jennifer Lynham Cunningham had a client meeting in Scranton and checked out a Rotary lunch gathering

That’s a super fun benefit of Rotary: you can instantly plug into a familiar community—45,000 clubs worldwide!

"Americans need to party more" headline got our attention...then it turns out Rotary is mentioned in this article as one model for socializing and creating community!

Not advocating that Rotary Presidents change to Rotary Influencers and get paid to advertise stuff to members!

But there's a lot to glean from the premis that people desparately want to be in community, they just don't want to plan the gatherings themselves. And, they're willing to pay for it.

Dingdingding Rotary Clubs - they want US! Will be thinking how to better connect and communicate with people like they mention here - comment with ideas or things you're doing that work.

p.s. Thanks to Janet Frost Kolepp for the article alert!

Americans need to party more. A new class of “community builders” is ready to help.

Who knew that teacher Alice Binney named Crayola in 1903, from the French “craie” (chalk) and “oleaginous” (oily)!

About 30 of us Rotarians learned that today from Alyssa Sarnosky, community and employee engagement specialist and company historian at Crayola.

We learned so many fun facts - like they're in Easton because Crayola started as a pigment and chemical business and needed the Bushkill Creek water power and slate.

Also, their solar farm produces the energy to make 1/3 of their 3 billion crayons/year! And, Silly Putty is made right here in Bethlehem!

It's also a generous community partner: grant applications are open until December 31 for $500 to $10,000, focused on youth arts and education, and all funding stays in the Lehigh Valley.

Thanks Alyssa for a fantastic meeting today!
