May's topic was: Journey Towards Wellness

Every month, CCI Support offers our members an educational topic of interest.
This meeting was led by our Health and Wellness Facilitator, Phil, with an update on Journey Towards Wellness.

Complex Chronic Illness Support has developed a Roadmap to Wellbeing to help bring together many of the key strands of healing and recovery. The aim is to give us a clearer sense of where to focus first, what to build next, and how to keep moving step by step toward greater health, capacity, and wellbeing.

Along the way, we can learn from those who have gone before us — people who have tried small experiments, explored different approaches, met dead ends, adjusted course, and gradually found their way toward fuller, more vibrant lives.

I’m absolutely overjoyed to share our fundraising total for ME/CFS and during May - a staggering $900! 🤯🙏

As someone with M.E., I can’t say how much it meant to see people engaging with the discussions and learning more about ME/CFS this month.

It’s such a misunderstood and stigmatized disease, despite over 135,000 sufferers in NZ, and millions more worldwide.

Thank you for coming to our Lit-Tea-Rary Tea Party, or joining in to from home, for donating to our Givealittle, and for buying books and blind dates throughout the month 🫖📖

Thank you for helping us make this invisible illness more visible 💙

Congratulations to all of the winners.

Congratulations to all of the winners.

It’s hard to believe it’s only been a week since our tea party and book swap fundraiser but that means it’s time to announce the winners from our Read for a Cause fundraiser.

These wonderful people and many others all donated to our givealittle this month and their names were drawn randomly and each has won a prize for their contributions:

Darelle
Glenys
Kirstie
&
Catherine

We also have a prize pack for Rona Driscoll for sharing how they spent their day reading and crafting for a cause!

Additionally the winner of the blue hamper was drawn today and it’s:
Kamila

If your name is here please contract us so we can organise getting your prizes to you!

Thanks so much to everyone who donated, attended the Tea Party last week and shared about the event!

We are still adding up the all the money raised but we can already tell it’s more than last year 🎉🎉

“For too many New Zealanders, Long Covid means losing health, work, financial security and quality".

While Budget 2026 has $5.5 billion of new funding for frontline health services, the budget papers state this will only cover current health policy settings.
