The Hotel Bethlehem was more than a hotel to Bruce Haines ’67. It was a second home.

When its future was threatened in the late 1990s, he brought together a group of fellow Lehigh and Lafayette alumni to help save the beloved landmark. More than two decades later, it continues to welcome guests from around the world.

As the theater world prepares to celebrate the Tony Awards on June 7, we connected with Michael Seiden ’63 ’64 to talk about his passion for the arts and role as a producer on several Broadway productions.

Today, he continues to help bring stories to life, ranging from regional theater productions to the Tony Award-winning "Operation Mincemeat."

Chemical engineering major Lillian Wu ’27 has been named a Goldwater Scholar, one of the nation’s top honors for undergraduate researchers in STEM. Her work studying antibiotic resistance is helping to shape future breakthroughs in medicine and public health.

Wu’s recognition makes her the second Lehigh student in as many years to receive the honor, joining a growing legacy of student-led discovery that reflects the university’s R1 designation and expanding research enterprise.

We’re proud to celebrate Lehigh students pushing discovery forward.
