Even native plants need watering these days, and your backyard wildlife needs help too! A simple saucer will be found and used by birds and bees and other creatures too. A barely submerged rock on the side will provide room for bird baths, yet keep the bees and other insects from drowning. Butterflies love to drink from puddling stations! There are plenty of youtube videos to show how to make one...Another shallow dish with sand, a bit of compost and small amount of epsom salt that is moistened will attract the butterflies. Add a rock or two for dry resting, and a small dish with some overripe fruit will provide them with the minerals they need.
