Who's in? Are you ready to join us on our next adventure?

The BLM Sales authority horses are back in the news and there are many complicated aspects of the workings of that organization but stepping out of the muddy discussion we have made the commitment to at least do something... we are small so the work is hard but we have been fortunate to partner with our friends at All The Kings Horses Equine Rescue to at least do our part in working toward a solution

All the Kings Horses has posted some very informative data about BLM rules and regulations and The law has not changed. It's the people who purchase the wild horses who send them to slaughter. People have been taking advantage of loop holes since the beginning and some government officials have most likely been turning a blind eye.

So in the spirit just doing what's right
our next save will be two wild Burros from the Double Devil Wild horse corrals . These Burros have specialized needs and are older.

What makes this work even more special is there will be 8 total coming to CT and 6 will be living with our friends at All The Kings Horses even more special is we have partnered with All the Kings Horses Rescue and the Double Devil Horse Corrals to make it happen. You don't often see 3 organizations collaborating but that's how we all can make a bigger difference.

Our partnership keeps wild horses/burros out of bad places and protects them for life. This is a solution that works.

This is the piece that most people miss... I get offers for volunteers and "how can I help?" While we appreciate the offers of assistance with the animals the greater need is funding - animal upkeep is costly and the funding is the biggest challenge faced by rescue organizations- also there is a large financial cost to the rescue to add a volunteer program - that program requires costly insurance and close supervision and training when working with the animals so while we always love the support there are lots of other ways to help - especially in fundraising so don't forget that there are many ways to help that don't involve direct animal care
