We had the opportunity to join an event this morning hosted by Humanitarian Social Innovations (HSI). HSI has been supporting my path to seeking a 501c3 status since last year! Today I had the pleasure of meeting other community members of HSI, network, and hear about all the beneficial work each is doing for our communities. I also donated a personal piece of art for their raffle basket that went to a good home!

This past Thursday, Arely Pellegrino Artist and Co-Founder of PSI Presented at Northampton community College. Arely who is also employed by Success Rehab as a Neuro Cognitive Instructor uses her skill set to engage clients in a variety of art modalities. Individuals learn the deeper meaning of art, as a restorative process, that can enhance mind, body and spirit.

Supporters of this BLM mural event formed dialogues in a safe space. They learned more about the individual lives lost, and shared their support in solidarity of the movement, and of art as a way to connect community together.

We were invited to teach an expressive art workshop for VAST- Valley Against S*x Trafficking. It was a weekend women’s retreat, set around a beautiful autumn country side. Participants enjoyed a relaxing and insightful evening engaging in a music and meditation based art session. PSI is evolving and we are enjoying the journey ♥️

This weekend came one step closer to fulfilling a long-term goal, community art accessible to all with a focus on mental health awareness. We harnessed the positive energy of art and community at our Artist call workshop. Art is the heartbeat of a Community. It can help bind people, it has the capacity to tell a story and form dialogues, it can inspire and heal.

Our September 25th art event is getting closer!

We are sending out a call to ALL artists!! Sign up for our FREE Mental Health & Visual Art Education Workshop on Saturday, September 25th from 1-3PM, hosted in The Fowler Community Room @ The Baum School of Art, 510 Linden St, Allentown, PA 18101

Aspiring artists will learn how they can contribute to the ongoing work of encouraging positive mental health in our communities and have the opportunity to submit their created work to be displayed on a yard sign or other printed display in the community!
