We’re excited to share a new partnership with Montgomery County’s Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center ! 💜

Last week, the Personal Care Foundation delivered 15 full-size hygiene Care Packages to the Gilchrist Center to help connect clients with essential personal care products.

We’re also proud to now be listed on Montgomery County’s website as a hygiene resource available to Gilchrist Center clients through referral.

Partnerships like this help us reach more people across our community and make sure that access to basic hygiene products is part of the support available to those rebuilding their lives.

We’re grateful to the Gilchrist Center for partnering with us to expand access to hygiene, health, and dignity in Montgomery County.

Yesterday was a Care Package prep day as we got ready for our upcoming deliveries. Because at PCF, advocacy and action go hand in hand.

Earlier this week, our Executive Director Carol met with Maryland Representatives Sarah Elfreth and Andy Harris to discuss H.R. 7367, the TANF Hygiene Access Act. The bipartisan bill, introduced in 2026, and referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. We're grateful for the chance to make the case directly to our representatives and hope to see it come to a vote this year.

🏆 We're honored!

The Personal Care Foundation was just recognized by Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich for our commitment to Trauma Services and the crime victims we served in 2025.

This award reflects the work of every volunteer who has packed a care package, every donor who has trusted us with their support, and every survivor who reminded us why this work matters.

Hygiene is not a luxury. It's a basic human right, and a first step toward health, dignity, and a fresh start.

Thank you, Montgomery County, for seeing our work. We're just getting started. 💜

The 19th reached out to over 250 domestic violence shelters, organizations and municipalities that have received federal grants in the past to determine the impact of withheld funds.
