Justice Revival

Justice Revival A leading Christian voice for human rights in the U.S. & home of the campaign šŸ•Š

Justice Revival is a diverse, inclusive community of Christian faith, dedicated to serving as a voice for human rights in the United States. In a country deeply divided about what justice requires, we affirm that justice means upholding the inherent human rights of all people, especially those on the margins. We inspire Christian communities with knowledge and understanding of human rights, and unite with them to promote a world free from injustice.

Being placed in solitary confinement is damaging to mental and physical health and can cause life-long trauma.

The End Solitary Confinement Act would address this injustice by strictly limiting the use of solitary confinement, enhancing due process protections, and enacting other vital reforms.

"Hebrews 13:3 states: 'Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured.' Faithful to this biblical mandate, let’s work together to end the torture of solitary confinement."

In the Presbyterian Outlook, Rev. Beverly Brewster calls for an end to solitary confinement: https://pres-outlook.org/2024/05/a-moral-call-to-end-the-torture-of-solitary-confinement/

Beverly Brewster shares a commissioners' resolution that will be introduced this summer at General Assembly.

Today we celebrate , the day when the good news of emancipation finally reached enslaved African Americans in Galveston, TX, in 1865.

Juneteenth is a reminder of the triumph of good over evil, and that we all have a role to play in the ongoing work of liberation.

Have you seen NFL player Harrison Butker’s harmful commencement speech at Benedictine College making the rounds?

One that expressed his ā€œCatholic valuesā€?

Well, we offer a response to Butker… along with our own virtual commencement speech šŸ˜‰

Our message reflects *true* faith values of equality, justice, and respect for the sacred worth of all people.

It also acknowledges the harmful effect of the misogynstic and homophobic ideas that Butker espoused.

May all of the graduates of 2024 flourish in the vocations that God has called them to, and find supportive partners and communities that encourage them along the way.
