🎙️ Sometimes success starts with a single interview.

After completing Bridges training, one employment specialist returned to work with new tools, new confidence, and a renewed focus on helping young adults succeed.

One student knew exactly what she wanted—but interviews felt overwhelming. Through mock interviews, encouragement, and personalized coaching, she gained the confidence to showcase her skills.

The result? She landed the job. 🎉

Stories like these remind us that meaningful support can create life-changing opportunities. Every step forward—no matter how small—builds confidence, independence, and a brighter future.

Important conversations are happening around disability inclusion and equal economic opportunity.

The Committee on Disabilities recently held an oversight hearing on the Equal Economic Opportunity for New Yorkers with Disabilities focused on employment accessibility, workforce development, and the barriers many individuals with disabilities continue to face in finding and maintaining meaningful work. Discussions highlighted the importance of job training, employer partnerships, accessibility, retention support, and stronger collaboration between agencies and organizations.

Advocates and workforce providers, including Bridges, emphasized that many individuals with disabilities are ready and eager to work — but stigma, limited outreach, and systemic barriers still create challenges.

Creating inclusive workplaces starts with awareness, action, and accountability. Every step toward accessibility creates more opportunities for independence, dignity, and long-term success. 💙

Today, we recognize World Schizophrenia Day 💚

Schizophrenia is a serious mental health condition that affects how a person thinks, feels, and experiences the world. But beyond the diagnosis is a person deserving of understanding, compassion, support, and inclusion.

Mental health awareness helps break stigma.
Education helps create empathy.
Support helps people feel seen and valued.

At Bridges to Work, we believe inclusive communities begin when we choose compassion over judgment and understanding over stereotypes.

Let’s continue creating safe spaces where mental health conversations are welcomed, and every individual feels supported. ✨

“What does Bridges mean to you?” 💜

We asked our students one simple question…
and their answers say everything.

For many of them, Bridges became a place where they feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow.

A space where confidence is built.
Life skills are developed.
And opportunities become more possible.

Their stories are a reminder that inclusive programs and supportive communities can create real impact.

Because when individuals are given the right support, they thrive. ✨

More than a program.
More than training.
Bridges is connection, growth, and opportunity.
