The documentary can be streamed on PBS throughout May - which is Older Americans Month - at https://www.pbs.org/show/aging-in-america-survive-or-thrive/ You can also view it on WETA on Sunday, May 11 at 5:00 pm.

It’s National Consumer Protection Week! 🛡️ Older adults are prime targets for phone scams. If you or someone you know is receiving suspicious calls, stay vigilant and protect yourself! Always ask questions to verify the caller’s identity before sharing any personal information. Never hand out sensitive details over the phone, and be extra cautious of offers that sound too good to be true. Visit https://ow.ly/66j350UHKzK for more information on common scams.

Friendship, fun, caring, connection – the four pillars of Bethesda Metro Area Village – bring us together as a community. Our programs and services fight loneliness, expand our support networks, improve our physical and mental health, and provide fun and learning. We thrive on our range of views, experiences, interests, and skills.

The village gives us purpose, and it fills our days – and evenings – with gatherings that meet our social and intellectual needs. With the energy and effort of our members and our incomparable executive director, our activities have multiplied and blossomed. The plague of isolation, depression, and anxiety that affects so many seniors is being conquered in this area, thanks to our village.
