Are you a visionary leader and accomplished scholar in translational with experience in peer-reviewed publishing as an author or editor? ACMG seeks the inaugural Editor-in-Chief of our newest journal, Genetics in Medicine Translational Genomics (GIM TG).

Launching in 2027, this new open-access journal will focus on translating genomic discoveries into clinical practice and . The inaugural Editor-in-Chief will help shape the journal’s editorial vision and scientific excellence while serving as an independent contractor in a three-year renewable term.

ACMG’s latest Therapeutics Bulletin highlights Kebilidi (eladocagene exuparvovec-tneq), the first FDA-approved gene therapy for AADC deficiency and the first FDA-approved intraputaminal gene therapy of any kind.

Kebilidi’s central benefit is that it restores the body's ability to make the AADC enzyme and, in turn, produce dopamine. Additionally, it is a one-time treatment, delivered in a single session.

This spotlight features Dr. Shweta Dhar, who was elected to the ACMG Board in 2021, and appointed as its inaugural Vice President of Education in 2024. Dr. Dhar is a tenured professor and clinical geneticist at Baylor College of Medicine and serves as Medical Director of their Adult Genetics Division as well as Chief of Genetics at Michael E. Debakey VAMC and Lead for Genomic Medicine for VISN16 (South Central VA network).
