NIH, NOAA, & HHS Recreation & Welfare Association The NIH/NOAA Recreation & Welfare Association serves the NIH, NOAA and Bethesda communities and helps raise funds for the NIH Charities

The R&W has 1 Gift Shop, 3 Fitness facilities in Bethesda, 1 Fitness Center in Baltimore, and Sports Court in Bldg 10. The R&W hosts and assists with over 30 events at NIH and in the Bethesda Community. Yearly events include Local Business Fairs (Spring & Fall - NIH Campus), the Camp Fantastic BBQ (June - NIH Campus), NIH Farmers Market (Tuesdays from year round - Bldg. 10), and the Combined Feder

al Campaign (September - December). The R&W has been the Housing Headquarters for NIH. This service will be coming again soon.

Mark your calendars! The Camp Fantastic BBQ benefitting Special Love returns June 9th on the South Lawn of Bldg. 10.

We've got a BIG DAY planned with games, live music from The Affordable Rock n Roll Act and their opening act Piedmonsters, Line Dancing, a Silent Auction, our weekly Community Market, and a sponsor fair. Lunch will be available from Jimmy's Famous Seafood, BBQandTech and B-Dub's Island Soul with dessert from Funnel Fare. The first 170 attendees to visit Contemporaries, Inc's table will receive a ticket for a FREE mini funnel cake.

In addition to all that NIH will be hosting its annual Safety, Health and Wellness Day in the South Lobby of Bldg. 10 and have some tables outside next to the food trucks.

If you previously purchased a Camp Fantastic BBQ T-shirt make sure to wear it to this year's event. If not, we've got you covered. Purchase one before the event at the Bldg. 31 R&W Gift Shop or at the BBQ for only $5.

Its RELAY DAY!

Third time is the charm.

Join us in front of Bldg. 1 for the 40th NIH Institute Relay but with some holiday merriment. Enjoy heart pumping music with some holiday music mixed in and hot chocolate or ice cream from Ben & Jerry's. Runners and volunteers receive one free Ben & Jerry's treat and a race t-shirt thanks to Contemporaries, Inc.

This year over 155 teams originally register and 133 are still planning to run, both race records.
