Being back on Facebook for the first time since summer made us realize we totally dropped the ball with the THANK YOU that we owed to McDaniel Wrestling Head Coach Mason Goretsas for closing out our final clinic of 2026. Most of the focus was neutral offense or recovery/finishes off of unsuccessful shots. It was a great way to finish off the 2026 summer clinic series! Thanks, Coach Goretsas! Good luck to the Green Terror in the upcoming season!

Apparently fb no longer let's you posted pictures and video together so, videos in the comments!

We had a first-time MSWL clinician bring us back from break, and we couldn't have been more impressed! Coach Youssif Hemida not only showed some top-notch technique, but he stuck around after his clinic to talk to our wrestlers and impart some words of wisdom. He was still matside at least 30 minutes after his clinic ended, taking pictures, shaking hands, and answering questions from our wrestlers about competing at the next level. It was a great night to kick-off our second half and we hope to have Coach Hemida back in the future! Coach Sharbaugh worked with the beginners on cleaning up single-legs and proper finishes. We'll get some video clips from the clinics posted soon! Thanks again to both Coach Hemida and Coach Sharbaugh for everything last week!

Just getting caught up on the Justin Wildy Sr - 2025 Week 3 Clinic from two weeks ago. I'm sorry to say that we did not get as many pictures/videos of the clinics as usual. Being the first full week of summer for MCPS and having two full teams away for camp put a little hit on our attendance. We scraped the dual meets and just went with Madison groups of 3 for live wrestling. We were trying to figure out the best way to pivot during the clinics and didn't get a chance to capture any of Tim Lowe working level changes and doubles to pins with the beginners. We did get a few pictures and videos(coming soon) of Justin Wildy Sr. and his crew walking the advanced clinic through a neutral series out of an underhook with multiple finishing options. A huge thank you to Coach Wildy for coming out to work with our wrestlers again! As our girls numbers continue to grow(25+ this summer!) we love having a collegiate girls coach in the room showing techniques that can help everyone improve. After a very timely off-week last week when the temps were in the triple digits, we're back on for a forecasted "cool" session tomorrow. We can't wait to see what Coach Youssif Hemida has in store for us and to get back to the duals!

We're back on for Week 3 tonight, but we wanted to extend an extra thank you to Coach Nick Arnone for coming out to run a week of the novice clinic for a third year in a row. Whether you are a beginner or a returning state champ, Coach Arnone can help you improve and we appreciate him coming back year after year to work with our wrestlers. He and another one of our clinicians, Rob Whittles are joining forces in July to run what is expected to be a top-notch day camp out of Sherwood HS. Both of these guys have been recognized by the Washington Post as Coach of the Year in the past so, it will be hard to find better coaching in the area. If you're interested, sign up ASAP!

We had another "bonus clinician" in Week 2! American University Wrestling Asst Coach Joey Dance brought with him a special guest to help out - 2026 EIWA Champ and NCAA All-American, Caleb Campos! Both Campos and Coach Dance kept most of the advanced clinic focused on the finer points of the low-single, showing our more experienced wrestlers how to beat an opponents whizzer, along with some high percentage finishes that minimize scrambling. I only saw a little bit of Coach Nick Arnone's work with the novice clinic but it looked like some hammerlocks and other top work were being reviewed. Love me some hammerlock!
Thanks to both Coach Dance and Campos from AU for putting together another quality advanced clinic and to Coach Arnone for showing the beginners something they probably hadn't had the chance to work before. We'll get since video posted soon!
