Continuing the series highlighting the talents within
Each functional piece or sculpture tells a unique story of creativity, passion and clay covered hands.

🎨 Artist Natalia Kormeluk makes wheel-thrown functional pottery, where surface treatments merge traditional slip-trailing with contemporary glaze techniques. Deeply influenced by 18th and 19th century slipware and the practices of age-old Ukrainian village potters, her work bridges past and present.
Texture plays a vital role, emphasized by glaze movement and variation, and each mark made on the surface is a balance of function, decoration and meaning. She uses a range of cone 6 clay bodies and her process is both methodical and intuitive. These everyday objects are more that utilitarian; they become carriers of memory, connection and culture 🕊️

Continuing the series highlighting the talents within . Each functional piece or sculpture tells a unique story of creativity, passion and clay-covered hands:

🎨 Artist Kanika Sircar crafts sculptural vessels, wall tiles and artist’s books, which are hand-built, wheel-thrown and often altered. The forms are marked with tools, slips, glazes and iron toner prints. The surfaces evoke manuscripts of timeworn stories and fragmentary palimpsests; not surprising since the original sources of the images are maps, diagrams and texts.

Meet the Makers Behind the Mud: Continuing the series highlighting the talents within . Each functional piece or sculpture tells a unique story of creativity, passion and clay-covered hands:

🎨 Artist Beth-Ellen Berry is drawn to the balance between function and aesthetics, and combines wheel-thrown and hand built forms; using both dark and speckled clay bodies.

Nature is a constant source of inspiration- from original illustrations turned into silkscreens, to colorful glaze paintings. She also uses a Cricut to make custom stickers that help layer patterns and slip decorations. Each piece is a blend of process, patience and the natural world 🌿🐙🐦‍⬛

🐘🐱🐢 Made for cat naps and coffee breaks☕️ …this pottery has you covered.

🎨 Susan Kimberly has been making functional, wheel-thrown pottery for over a dozen years. She works with cone 6, speckled stoneware or other light clay bodies that highlight the underglaze designs, which are then glazed in a light celadon or clear glaze. These recent pieces, of whimsical animal characters, reflect her foray into the light-hearted and fun aspect of working in clay 🎈

🦜🦋🌵 birds, butterflies, flora and cacti 🔥

🎨 Mihika began her clay journey in high school and after a detour returned to the ceramics community in 2018. Her style has since evolved from functional, wheel-thrown forms to more sculptural ones with polychrome, textured surfaces. The painted motifs are informed by her work as a biomedical researcher as well as her interests in exploring the diversity of the flora and fauna of this area. She favors the atmospheric alchemy of wood-firing that complements her elegant, controlled forms with dynamic surface variations.

💎📍⚱️jewel tones and earth colors 🍏

🎨 David Bunk gravitates towards atmospheric firings (in gas, wood, soda and Raku) which give his work the rich tones that accentuate his forms and complement their design. He works in both stoneware and porcelain, choosing the former for his complex decorative forms.

🧈 dishes and 🕯️sconces

🎨 Artist .azz Jennifer Azzariti’s ceramics hold significance beyond their everyday function, straddling the space between utility and sculpture. Her practice is grounded in decades of exploration across materials and techniques, borrowing from the vocabulary of fiber, metal and collage. Inspired by Wedgewood’s Jasperware, she works primarily in porcelain and uses spring-molds cast from found objects.

🍃🐄🫏 All Creatures Great and Small 🐙🕊️🦉
First post of a new series, highlighting the work of individual members.

🎨Artist Lisa Kowalewski works exclusively in porcelain and over the past 7 years her work has evolved from figurative/sculptural pieces to hand built functional ware with a vintage Victorian aesthetic. No two anthropomorphic creatures or botanicals are the same, and each piece is hand painted with underglazes.
