Today marks the second anniversary of the passing of Kathleen Campbell Houlding, for whom Kaykay’s Cause was named.

Recently, the cause made its initial contribution to the Georgetown University Hospital Lombardi Cancer Center. With the contribution of $25,000, the Kathleen Campbell Houlding Memorial Cancer Research Fund has been established.
Thank you everyone who has contributed to date.

The roses in the vase signify the pink for breast cancer research and were given to Kathleen’s daughter at school today.
May we all cherish her memory and strive to find a cure!

Happy Birthday Kathleen!
On what should be her 45th birthday, we remember the woman who meant so much to so very many people.
As a nurse, she delivered countless children, providing the laboring mother with kindness, empathy, and spirit. She was often lauded for her bedside nursing skills.
As a wife, she was loving, comforting and patient. She made the home fun.
As a mother, she was the greatest giver, ensuring that her kids were well prepared for the world ahead.
We all dearly miss her.

November 10, 2022 represented 1 year since cancer claimed the life of Kathleen Campbell Houlding. Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to recount her brave fight to so many people and on many of those occasions been reminded why KayKay's Cause was founded.
Earlier today I was outside my home and a gentleman approached me to ask about the Cobra. I began explaining that it was being raffled for research to prevent cancer metastasis and without another word he began to cry and embraced me....his sister is living the battle at this moment. She too was told that she was cancer free, almost 10 years ago, but the cancer has returned very aggressively. Philip, we all will keep your sister in our prayers.

The Cobra is an opportunity to drive away a vehicle that as my friend John said, "immediately puts a smile on your face and it doesn't go away'. Your $50 or greater donation will earn 1 or more tickets towards a raffle that has fairly good odds, and the money will be put to work immediately through Dr. Claudine Isaacs and her team of researchers.
KayKay's Cause is a charity operated by her husband Chris Houlding and will be co-operated by her eldest son William on his 18th birthday. No salaries are drawn and expenses are managed to a minimum. Our intent is to give your donation directly to a source that will effect the use of these monies immediately.
The raffle will continue until a minimum of 3250 tickets have been awarded. As the value of the vehicle is $105,000, the winning ticket will also be awarded $20,000 cash to offset the tax burden anticipated.

The Cobra will be on display and we may even start it up for some ear tuning..... For those who are curious what it sounds like out on the road, watch the video below...and turn that sound up!

Donations to KayKay's Cause for $100 will earn one ticket in the Cobra Raffle. A bonus ticket will be rewarded for every $500 donation increment.

It has been a couple months to get to this point. Finally, our application for tax exempt status was approved by the IRS. And just today, our raffle license has been put in the mail by Montgomery County. On September 15th, we will commence the first raffle to benefit KayKay's Cause.
The drawing is scheduled for October 15th, 2022. We look forward to presenting the keys to this wonderful 1965 Superformance Cobra MKIII shortly thereafter!

All proceeds will benefit KayKay’s Cause in its venture to prevent metastatic breast cancer and help those families in need of mental health support. February 4th is World Cancer Day - a perfect day to introduce ourselves.

KayKay’s Cause is a non-profit organization created in the name of Kathleen Campbell Houlding, who passed away after a two-year battle with metastatic breast cancer in November 2021 at the age of 43.

The fund benefits the research of Dr. Claudine Isaacs, Kathleen’s oncologist at Georgetown, who is researching triple-negative breast cancer and the prevention of metastasis. KayKay’s Cause will also provide financial assistance for counseling services to families whose loved one has been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
