Saturday, October 3, 2026, Armenian Relief Society “Satenig” Chapter hosted a tea party for the community. The theme of the party was to present the audience with some of our historical Armenian Queens in our rich history. Members of the chapter and community members dressed up in Armenian costumes (Daraz) and presented a small history of the queen they were representing. Attendees were also encouraged to come dressed with their costumes and/or tiaras. A fun and educational afternoon was had by all.
ARS “Satenig” Chapter Chairwoman – Leeza Doukmajian – gave a small synopsis of some of the work that ARS does around the world supporting our compatriots and educating our youth. Some members of our community were so moved and encouraged by this that they signed up to become members and join our big organization.

ARS “Satenig” Chapter hosted its second of many planned educational seminars this past Saturday with Dr. Saro Sarkisian, board certified oncologist, presentation on Early Cancer Detection, Prevention and Treatment. Thank you to all who came and supported this informative session.

In Loving Memory of Ungerouhi Vrejoohie Armenian.

With heartfelt sadness, we remember Ungerouhi Vrejoohie, a longtime and devoted member of the Armenian Relief Society Washington, DC Satenig Chapter.

She served on the Chapter Executive for several terms, giving her time, energy, and dedication to the ARS and the Armenian community. She was deeply passionate about all things Armenian—our heritage, culture, traditions, and people.

Her devotion, warmth, kindness and years of service will be remembered with great appreciation. She leaves behind a lasting legacy within our chapter and community.

On Saturday, June 13, 2026, members of the Armenian Relief Society “Satenig” Chapter and Soorp Khatch Church community members participated in a 5K walk and hike along the Potomac Heritage Trail Riverbend Park at Great Falls, Virginia. The event raised funds for the ARS Children of Fallen Heroes, a program which was started to support the children who were orphaned due to the earthquake in Armenia and, more recently, due to the wars in Artsakh. We thank all the participants – adults and children of all ages - for being a part of this special day.

The Ascension “Hampartsoum” Day celebration was truly special this year, as our “Satenig” chapter welcomed new members to our ARS family. We reflect and give our thanks of hope and renewal. Together, we shared traditions, songs, and a vision of unity, marking it as a day of spiritual growth and inspiration that we’ll remember for years to come.
And a big Thank You to all those that came and supported us!
