We were invited by Ohio Valley USTA to take six players from our middle school team to play in the Diverse Meetup during finals weekend of the Cincinnati Open! Thank you Ohio Valley for this incredible opportunity for our players. It was a great way to meet players from all across the Midwest, including Chicago, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, and Detroit. And yes, little ole Bethel was right in there with them ❤️🎾😃 And to cap it off, Coco Gauff practiced two courts down from us… she won the Open!

🎾HELP WANTED: Let’s Paint!

Work is underway on the tennis court improvement project at Bethel-Tate Middle School, and the Bethel Area Tennis Association is looking for some helping hands for the next step!

🗓️ Saturday, August 29th, 2026
⏰ 10 a.m.
📍 Bethel-Tate Middle School tennis courts

Volunteers will be painting the fence posts around the courts. All supplies will be provided, and there will be jobs for volunteers on the ground as well as work using scaffolding provided by the district.

The more helpers, the quicker the work will go! By pitching in, volunteers can help the Tennis Association save on project costs and make the most of the grant and community funding supporting the court improvements.

☕ And yes, there will be coffee and doughnuts!

We are planning to paint the fence posts Saturday morning starting at 10 am at the middle school courts!! We would love to have as many helpers as possible…
Please let me know if you can come and help!! We will have doughnuts and coffee 🎾
If we get lots of helpers, it shouldn’t take too long. Let’s come together as this is huge for our community, and this is the next step in bringing us closer to getting our new tennis courts. We are trying to save money where we can in the repair project. If you can’t help, stop by and say hello! The school has graciously offered their movable scaffolding to paint the top posts. We can use plenty of ground help as well. We’ll have all the supplies ready to go. Thanks everyone!

Thanks to MTEF for our grant and their endless support for helping us grow tennis and provide awesome opportunities in our communities!

A huge round of applause for the Bethel Area Tennis Association, an official recipient of the 2026 USTA Midwest Tennis & Education Foundation Organization Grant!

In rural, lower-income communities, access to tennis can be tough due to a lack of resources. Led by Lori Lenhart, BATA keeps their programming incredibly affordable, and this grant is helping them provide racquets to anyone who needs one, directly impacting over 110 local youth this season!

With this funding, BATA is expanding into cardio tennis, instructional leagues, and Family Fun Nights to bring the whole community together.

Kid’s Day at the Cincinnati Open!! Thanks to First Serve Community Fund and Cincinnati Tennis Foundation for the amazing experience, our youth had an absolutely wonderful day!
We appreciate the generous number of tickets and meal cards provided.
