Meet the Shermans. When Megan was diagnosed with breast cancer, she and her family decided to think differently about the legacy they wanted to create for their two young children. Instead of tangible gifts, they chose to give their children something even more precious: the gift of health.

With our support, the Shermans are creating a legacy in three meaningful ways: investing in their children’s health by working with a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, putting their estate plan in place to protect their family, and creating memories they’ll cherish together on a family cruise next summer. ❤️

We are honored to be part of this family's story.

Sometimes heaven feels a little closer when dreams finally come true…

This story has been over a year in the making and it’s one we need to share.

In late 2024, we planned a dream vacation for Addie and her mom, Kerrie. Kerrie was battling cancer, and she wanted one thing more than anything: to make magical memories with her family before time ran out.
They packed their bags. They were filled with hope. Heartbreakingly, Kerrie passed away while they were on their way. They never made it. But love doesn't end…

Earlier this month, Addie finally took that trip. Kerrie's sister Heather stood in to give Addie the experience Kerrie fought so hard to create. Along with other family members, they stayed at Disney's Contemporary Resort, explored Magic Kingdom, and experienced the thrills of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We know that Kerrie was there, smiling and seeing her daughter’s face light up with pure joy.

This trip wasn't just a vacation. It was a promise kept. A love that transcends loss. A reminder that even when cancer takes a parent, it can't take away the memories we fight to create in their honor.

To our donors: You made this miracle happen. Thank you for turning heartbreak into hope and giving Addie a piece of her mom's heart.

For Kerrie, who never stopped fighting for her daughter.

For Addie, who deserves every bit of magic this world has to offer.

For every family walking this unimaginable road.

This is why Red Bird exists. It is in honor to serve families like these.
