A LOCAL INSURANCE PROFESSIONAL IS HELPING STUDENTS LEARN WHAT A PAYCHECK REALLY MEANS.

Thank you to Britney Hollick and her State Farm agency for sponsoring a career card in Period Zero's Turning Dollars Into Sense financial literacy simulation.

In the simulation, students explore real careers and make decisions about everyday expenses such as housing, food, transportation, and insurance. Britney's sponsored insurance-career card helps connect a potential profession to the financial choices students will face as adults.

A career card is more than a logo placement. It gives students a profession to investigate and helps them understand the tradeoffs between income and expenses.

Are you a business owner or professional who wants your industry represented in the simulation? Contact [email protected] to ask about sponsoring a career card.

ONE STUDENT. ONE OPPORTUNITY. ONE LESS BARRIER.

A Steel Center student preparing for a job in construction is the first recipient of Period Zero's professional clothing support.

Thanks to gift cards provided by Ross, PZ can help young people get clothing and workplace essentials they need for interviews, internships, career events, and jobs. This first award is a concrete example of what happens when a community partner helps remove a barrier between a student and an opportunity.

Teen Networking Nights took careers in drone technology from conversation to real-world application. 🚁

At our recent Teen Networking Night, young people explored careers in drones, learned how drone technology is being used across industries, and saw how those skills can connect to real workforce opportunities.

That learning continued yesterday at the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company, where Blake Hagerty provided a live drone demonstration for families and community members and showed the technology in action.

A special thank-you to Blake for sharing his knowledge, leading the drone demonstration, and capturing these incredible aerial photos. Experiences like these help young people move beyond simply hearing about careers to seeing the technology, meeting people doing the work, and imagining themselves in those spaces.

That is what Period Zero is building: opportunities for young people to Discover. Develop. Demonstrate. Connect. Launch.

Today was a great day for Period Zero at the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company Open House!

Our team had the opportunity to demonstrate drones, talk with families and community members, and share what’s coming next with the Period Zero Drone Workforce Lab. The conversations were just as important as the flights — helping young people and families see how drone technology connects to real careers, problem-solving, creativity, and the future of work.

A huge thank you to the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company for inviting us to be part of today’s event and giving us the opportunity to connect with the community.

The Drone Workforce Lab is coming — and we’re excited to keep building opportunities for young people to discover, develop, demonstrate, connect, and launch.
