On Saturday, BICS board members Audrey Delano and Kathleen Stein, local youth volunteers Travis, Tatiana, and Marky, and Gregg, owner of The Bike Connection in Palo Alto, distributed 25 bicycles to young members of the Bethel Island community.

This is through our “Get Outside” program, funded in part, by the Office of Supervisor Diane Burgis, through Measure X funding. This makes 50 bikes provided to the Bethel Island community in the last 2 years. We take pride in encouraging our community to get off screens, get outside and play, and to contribute to their community through volunteering.

We currently are out of funds for this project through 6/30/27. We already have 5 residents on the waitlist, in hopes that we continue to receive funding and support from Contra Costa County.

Reminders:
⭐️Weekly Tutoring- Every Wednesday at Scout Hall. 2-3 pm. Except school holidays. No sign up required.

⭐️Weekly PE- Every Saturday at the Community Park. 10-11 am. Every 5 you attend, youth resident gets $25 Amazon gift card. No sign up required.

⭐️Soon our Christmas party forms will be in the post office or online. Please keep an eye out. The party is on 12/15/26 4-7 pm. Sign up required.

We want to send a special thank you to Glenn & Nancy Hammonds, the San Joaquin Yacht Club, and every other sponsor, donor, and volunteer who contributed to yet another successful Bethel Island Charity Cruise. This is the 3rd annual cruise, in memory of the late Dennis Pippin, a member of the community who continues to inspire generosity and the spirit of giving. This cruise was in support of Meals on Wheels and the children on Bethel Island through Bethel Island Children's Support.

Between the spectacular views, beautifully decorated venue, and deliciously cooked dinner, this event was wonderfully done; a round of applause to everyone!
